...So it's the middle of the night and a show called "Moby Dick the true story" comes on, and catches my attention.. So I start reading up on whaling, and it's actually quite interesting.. Amazing really, how long its gone on for, and really how large of an industry it once was...

They must have killed some pile of whales over the years, if ships 100's of yrs ago were returning with 100's of tons of whale oil...

The first half of Moby dick is a great read if you want to get the feel for whaling life. After that it all goes to shit, but the first half is great.
