Any you guys paying for the Newsbin sites for movies?

You can register and login for free to view the files and such...just curious.
The dnlds max out my connections at over 1MB/s. 4.5 gig files in like 30 minutes.

I've never heard of newsbin running it's own sites other then for its newsgroup reader. But if your looking for a place to to just search what's available on newsgroups take a look at www.binsearch.info. You select your files, it generates a .nzb file for you and then queues it up in your news reader.

There's Newzbin and then there's Newsbin. Newzbin is the nzb/usenet indexing site and Newsbin is the newsreader.

I'm having trouble connecting to the shaw server. Any ideas? I used shawmail.cg.shawcable.net as my URL, everything else I did not touch.

I think it might have to do with shawnews instead of shawmail:

I use giganews server and Merlins portal or binsearch when I can't find it on merlins portal.

SABnzbd is the best news leecher program I've used yet. It will automatically start the download, par repair it and extract it to a directory you've choosen

Um Astraweb is only $11 and very good .. not as much retention as Giganews but there is a big price difference .. and I like Altbinz better than sabnzb because it is not web based

powerusenet here (giganews reseller), $15/month. altbinz + supersearch and newzbin seem to work well for me.
