Im not too familiar with 2.5l performance but does anybody have any experience with jeep?
My wrangler isnt very aerodynamic so holding speed on the highway is a bit tough. Any power i can squeeze out of my 4 angry squirrels woul be awesome.
If anybody has any 2.5l performance suggestions itd be appreciated.
Thanks

Are you asking what kind of power you can make with 2.5 litres? Or about your motor in particular?

Start with a k&n air filter, they help the engine breathe alot better, you could also upgrade exhaust and maybe a performance chip, other than that i don't think there is a bunch more out there for the 2.5l.

there are a couple things you can do for you absolutely gutless motor (its ok, i have the same motor)
i beieve you can add the 4.0 tb onto it for a bit.
check calgaryjeep.com
there are a few threads i saw regarding that on there..
I'll give you a cuple plus's
your axles are 4.10's, same gear ratio as rubicons, but without lockers.
if you have some fab skills, the tranny you have - ax5 will bolt directly to a gm 3.1, 3100, 3400, and you should be able to use a pre 95 cavalier wiring harness. (the 86 cherokees came with a gm 2.8 and the ax5 tranny)

How fast are you trying to travel with a Jeep? lol. If it can't hold 110--120 KPH without your foot on the floor, i think you need to look at the health of the motor. And maybe all you need is a thorough tune up.

Jeep (Mopar) used to make tons of performance parts for the 2.5, have a look around and you'll be sure to come across them. Depending on how much money you want to spend a swap to a 4.0L might be easier, or buy a Jeep with a 4.0L in it already. There are a lot of Wrangler's around with V8's in them too so the swap is there.

Chrysler makes a book all about Jeep performance. Get a dealer to order it for you.

Not true. I had the 2.5 in my TJ, and it would not hold decent speed sometimes when I went west on the #1. The best I could get is about 90 up some hills. It's fine for in town (and almost peppy in some respects), but on the highway it is a supremely gutless engine.

I had a v6 dodge 1500, same shit, peppy around town, good ratios down low. On the hiway, i had to downshift to get up hills, even the one between balzac and calgary. Good on gas tho.

the 2.5L needs help i used to own one, and my two buddies now own Tj's. They both have to go full throttle in fourth to keep 100km/h on the highway. It's kinda funny. but they have nice big winches and 33inch tires.
