Hey.
Sooo
Lady hit my car.
Car is fine minus dent in fender and broken signal lights.
Buuut.

Now when I drive at 60
The wheel shakes a bit then when I go higher it gets more violent.
The alignment is still mint.

Im thinking if I get the wheel rebalanced then it should be good.
Is that correct?

It could be the wheel balance or wheel alignment, you're going to have to get it check man. It may look straight to you, but if it's off by even just a little bit, you could potentially just make it worse. You're gas mileage will be fucked as well if any of that is off. Then you start looking at premature wear and tear with your tires.

Put the spare tire on and drive down Mac Tr. at 60km.

your damaged wheel could be out of balance.

How have you determined that your wheel alignment is "mint"???

If you were hit directly over the tire then likely the wheel/tire was hit as well. If this is the case it can damage the tire internally such that it would be out of balance and risk blowing out, it can bend your rim, or it can do damage to your steering / suspension components. Any of these can cause your issue.

If some lady hit your car call your insurance company, get her insurance to fix it... :nut:

my guess is she hit your wheel or tire and it may not have left a mark but may have bent suspension pieces behind it.

That would make your alignment and front suspension... "not mint"

Why haven't you called your Insurance Company and filed a claim?

Seriously, Dec 30th, should now be referred to as National Facepalm day.

Unless you have had the car checked out the car on an alignment rack , you need to get it looked at! Could be a bent wheel, bent control arm, Wheel bearing ( not the cause of shakes).

Check

Rim runout check
Rim overall Condition check
Wheel bearing check (move wheel side to side- as well as tie rod check)
Ball joint check (up and down wheel shake)

Perform visual inspection on

Struts
Sway bar and end link
Drive axle
Control arm.

Chances are one or few of these items will need to be replaced.

Ensure an alignment is done afterwards, this ensures the repairs been done properly and of course align the wheels.
