short range wireless.

"cheap" replacement for wires.

There's tons of bluetooth capable devices available. Most common is cell phone and headsets. Traditionally, you would have to plug the headset into the phone. With a bluetooth phone and a bluetooth headset, you simply "bond" the devices together on the phone's menu, enter a PIN to ensure it IS you bonding the devices, and voila! Wireless headset!

I use bluetooth to connect pocket pc's together for quick file transfers. You can also use bluetooth to connect your pocket pc to a cell phone, and use that cellphone as a modem wirelessly to get on the internet.

Yeah, I've done it. You gotta have a bluetooth adapter for each computer and just enable file sharing. You can also set it up so that one computer can use the internet from another.

Bluetooth range is like 6-10ft, so it wouldn't be good for transfering from comp to comp.

Laptop to laptop, or Laptop to PDA, etc. works great. Set one on discover, one to search for devices, pair 'em up and u can transfer files, business cards, anything u want.

Just share the printer. However, anytime you need anything printed, the computer the printer is hooked up to will need to be on.

Either that or get a router with a printer port.
