Place for drinks w/ good food

Hey, I'm looking for a place to take friends thats great for having drinks and enjoying a good meal. It has to be a nice place (ie. not boston pizza, montanas ect..) however the prices shouldnt be to steep (student budget). Hopefully somewhere downtown/uptown.

There are so many places, depends what kind of food you want...

I was gonna say Raw Bar.... but that may be too steep.

You could also try FATS on 10st in Kensington. The food is decent there for a pub type place.

Or maybe Belgo.

The Palomino. It's not "classy" but the food is top notch if you like barbecue, and they are reasonable for prices. They also have live bands pretty often.

if you are willing to drive to the west edge of the city, you could try Fergus And Bix Restaurant And Beer Market. ok food and like 20 (?) local kind beers on tap.

some of the best steak I have had yet in Calgary, and prices are not out of this world, I got my wife and I as well as both her parents and both my kids a good meal and a drink each for (If I remember correctly) the 120-140 range
