So, where to begin, we've been working on this swap for about 6 months now when we find time. This is our first swap of this variety, and also was a very challenging swap, but here we are, mechanical is done and car is going in for paint within the month. Check out the pictures and descriptions, tell us what you think. We do sr20 swaps mostly, so far we've done about 15 swaps here in calgary. This was our first 2jz into an sc300 swap, so check it out anyways.

Here is our unsuspecting victim....little does it know, its about to become a monster....

http://s163.photobucket.com/albums/t320/ca18det240sx/n645565102_4439205_5792.jpg

3000 nuts and bolts later, the bumper comes off.....atleast its stirdy....

http://s163.photobucket.com/albums/t320/ca18det240sx/n645565102_4439208_6798.jpg

Here it comes, out of the car, to find its demise in a junkyard somewhere....anybody want a 2jzGE block and head?

http://s163.photobucket.com/albums/t320/ca18det240sx/n645565102_4439212_7970.jpg

Now it's a NO-jz....as it waits for its new heart.

http://s163.photobucket.com/albums/t320/ca18det240sx/n645565102_4439213_8260.jpg

Do not attempt without proper USDM water pump. Rad hose...15$...fan...80$...water pump.....priceless...to the point of 700$...yes thats right kids, 700$

http://s163.photobucket.com/albums/t320/ca18det240sx/n645565102_4439215_8871.jpg

Yes, this is what 700$ looks like....and we didnt even get a free blowjob or anything.....

Yah, his cousin wanted to dress it up just a little bit. This time next year, everything will be steel braid and AN fittings. Right now, with retaining the twins, it would be way too much work and wasted time to do the AN and steel braid now, so we'll save it for later.

Its a possibility maybe, but from what i understand, the tranny we are using apparently will take quite a bit of abuse. If that doesnt work i think we'll go to the previous supra tranny, r154, apparently its retardedly tough. From what i understand, to make the 6 speed work, there is extensive modification to the tranny tunnel and where the shifter comes thru, as far as i know.

Next year will be single turbo, engine management, bigger injectors, and we'll go from there i guess.

just out of curiosity tho....what is the "truth" about megan racing. Yah, some of their stuff sucks, but some is of mid quality which is what their target market is. Ive used many of their downpipes and exhausts without anything breaking. Manifolds SUCK, thats for sure. I see nothing wrong with the suspension system, seems of good quality machining and steel used, easy to adjust. I guess we'll see :D

I would not bother using the nissian silicon, if you use the red/orange high temp silicon you can use that on anything. I work on Semis and ou would be surprised how much heat that shit will take. And how long it lasts too...

Thank you...and yes...it sucked...and i was seeing colors after that one. I literally sat there for about 3 hours extending one wire at a time until i was done them all....then we had to wire it into the chassis as well which sucked just as bad. This swap definately isnt for the faint of heart.

Even more reason for that 1 wire to fail - the greater the time/care spent in wiring, the greater the probably that the hardest to access wire will fail for no particular reason

Feels ok too on the test drive (=. you can really tell when that second turbo kicks in for sure....we were bouncing off the boost limiter tho, i think because we were driving right off the dump pipes, not even a downpipe haha. Maybe when we get the exhaust on it will help regulate the boost a little lower...seemed to be spiking to around 18 psi. We'll figure it out im sure.

^ yeah i believe it's oil squirters and compression, the HP diff iirc factory spec for a 2jz is 220ish and a 2jzTT 280ish plus access to future mods.

just like many is300 owners put an aristo head on their N/A's and basically go from there. still looking into that one for this summers project.

so wheres the 'first startup and cut to test drive' vid for this SC ? :D

Not exactly the case, the $700 one he was talking about sounds like the price range if not more that's used on MK1 ARISTO's. The Aristo uses a frankenstein looking waterpump that drives the hydrofan assembly as well. Additionally, for examples sake you can actually swap out the entire hydrofan setup for a Supra clutch fan waterpump with ALL of the needed hardware for use with the clutch fan setup.

You will need downpipes with a restrictor ring OR install a voltage clamp (Boost cut controller) in order to prevent fuel cut.

BINGO!!! see? somebody who knows their shit. This is an 11 bolt water pump on this engine, the the supra engine uses a 10 bolt. We tryed 3 different water pumps before we found the necissary one.

Im not claiming to know WHY this engine had that particular pattern of pump, but guy, i tryed 3 water pumps, all for 2jz, supra twin turbo, etc, and the only one that fit was this retarded one from the dealer, and if i didnt get a deal, the price was ~700$

When swapping out the Aristo pump, you need to swap out the ENTIRE pump if I am not mistaken. So, the pulley side (side with 11 bolt etc etc) and the rear housing that it bolts onto.

Lol, I hope you guys did the Timing belt while you were in there.

So talked with RCTS today and a couple very good sources... the normal 2JZ pump from a Supra will work.... If you want to run the factory Hydrofan you need to modify it, but if your ditching that setup for an electric one than you will not have a problem.

Just what I was told, I will try to post pictures to show the process.

Yah we wanted to keep the hydrofan, so we had to get interesting. Like i say, i dont know what pump we got, i think its an 11 bolt, and most are 10 bolt. :dunno: i put 3 others on before we found that one. Whatever works i guess.

Saw this car the other day in Okotoks.
Very nice job on the install, super clean looking engine bay.

I actually thought it was a Soarer with a FMIC when I saw it across the car wash parking lot. I did the whole walk over to be like " nice car!, then nudge back at my own soarer to finish the lameness" but was presently surprised to see a lhd.

If this thing gets any more mods Id love to see a progress report on it. ( lil something to work towards)

I actually just drove it the other day, the paint was finally done. I have to say, its quite the monster...and traction was DEFINATELY an issue. A few adjustments will be made to the dampening and maybe the height pretty soon. It was supposed to have a body kit, but the kit was so wrong and fucked up it couldnt be installed, and the place wouldnt take it back. Ah well....maybe next time itll fit.
