So the gf brought a macbook and she was telling me how much she likes this program called ichat for web camming and sharing screens and what not.

I use a regular windows computer and msn and apparently you can't use regular msn web cam on the mac?

The thing is I am off to Scotland again for school in a week or so, and was wondering if there is anything similar to ichat for windows which we can use to web cam with each other and stuff? Or any other alternatives?

Thanks

install this on the mac and you should be able to do webcam convos on windows live messenger, don't quote me though i never tested it, since I don't own a mac.

the messenger for mac won't let you use the isight.....best thing to do is install windows on her MacBook through boot camp and then use messenger there, then webcam, sound works fine....

gmail works great, try that first, probably the easiest out of the potential solutions listed here. (don't have to install anything other than the gmail webcam plugin)

Skype works best for the mac to webcam with a PC in my experience. Never tried the gmail version as it wasn't available when I was using the webcam.

Mercury IM is another program you can use. Works pretty well for MSN messenger w/ webcam support.

I would get the computer boot camped with windows.
Then run VMware fusion... Unity... you can then have the latest msn for mac on OSX.
