I really thought Danube closed down. Every time I am tried to go there they were closed. Recently I walked by there and I thought I saw a different eatery open up in its place.

Danube closed down as of a couple months ago I think but it was very good.

However, there is one other one that is really good and its in the plaza near Central high school in the SW. you can get to it when you are going north on crowchild, just north of glenmore.

Its called pfeuntastic pannokaken house or something of that nature. lol sorry I do not know the name / spelling.

^ I didn't find that place too great. On my birthday I went to de dutch pannekoek house in the deep south. Very good, i loved eating there when it was in the NE and it's just as good now.

Here's the info.

Dedutch Pannekoek House
- www.dedutch.com
234-4916 130 Avenue SE, Calgary - (403) 257-9303

Just curious, how does a place like Cora stand in the ratings for crepes? Cuz i love this new breakfast joint way more than denny's, nellies, and the other big chains.

You haven't had crepes till you have some home cooked French crepes  All other crepes are just a paltry imitation. I make a mean crepe when I am so inclined. My advice to anyone trying to make crepes is to get a good quality crepe skillet and to try your hand at a good dozen before you serve them to anyone ;) The trick is to pour the batter onto the skillet with one hand and to immediately start spreading it with a spoon held by the other hand. You want to shape it into as thin a circular shape as possible. Takes practice but eventually you will get the hang of it :) Alternatively some people swirl their skillets. However I am fond of the texture you get from using a spoon as this is more in line with the typical French way of cooking crepes.

You dont need a skillet to make a perfect crepe, thats a fact, and you certainly wont need a spoon to spread it, altough it may help for the first time. Its all about the swirl and the motion ;)

I have tried crepes all over europe, and still love my home made ones the best.

the recipes that i sent include instructions on how to make them and not just the mix.

I might do a write up with pix this weekend for the perfect crepe. Its so easy to make and takes no time at all.

Meanwhile..enjoy the recipe boys

Just found out from my girlfriend that it isn't exactly a crepe place. It's a thin dutch pancake that is very similar to a crepe but not exactly. Sorry for the misinformation... I think it's still worth a shot to go give a try though.

Tried it. :thumbsdow :thumbsdow :thumbsdow

They don't flip their crepe when they cook it either, so it only gets cooked on one side. I always thought you have to cook it on both sides. And I had the Cali Chicken which comes with salsa. The crepe itself didn't have that buttery crepe flavour, and the filling was not heated up.

I think the best crepes I've ever had was in Japan. But that recipe sounds good ladyluck... Please post!!!
