I'm looking for 512mb stick of pc2100 or pc2700 notebook ram.

I just switched my macbook RAM from 512s to 1gigs so I have mine kicking around. Do you know if those are pc2100 or pc2700? I'm at work and the ram is at home so I can't check on it right now.

the ibook uses pc2100 but pc2700 will work also since it will downgrade to pc2100.

Do you know the brand the ram is?

Don't know about the iBooks, but all Intel MacBooks (except the new aluminum ones released this year) use 200pin PC2-5300 DDR2 667 MHz RAM

The new aluminum macbooks use 200pin PC3-8500 DDR3 1066 MHz.

That being said, I don't know if it will work for you, but I've got 4 512 sticks of the 5300 DDR2 from a few MacBooks at home. 2 are Samgung matched, the other 2 are Micron matched.
