Damn I wanna kill someone or something.

I just purchased a used car yesterday through a private sale and he only had one key (figures):dunno: I was gonna make a copy today and now I can't find my key anymore. :banghead: The car is a 92-95 Honda civic if this helps.

Now this is where I need some help, I can't get in the car anymore. :thumbsdow

Can anyone on beyond help me out or have any suggestions of what I should do. Maybe tell me how much it could cost too. Please and thanks for everyone that view this and help.

I was told that I could go back to the original manufature and get them to cut me one, is this true?

Thanks beyonders for helping

Yes. If you have the vin and registration, go to a honda dealership and they should beable to cut you a key.

Um... And then what? Hot wire the car?

LOL when I first read the thread title, I thought your baby/child had swallowed your keys. I was going to suggest an X-ray. :nut:

the locksmith can cut a key by seeing the number inside of the lock cylinder. it doesnt mean they can only pick the lock or hot wire.

at least it's not RHD

yeah if it was RHD, you would have to go through the procedure of overnighting the key from Japan. not fun.

If you have a CAA premium membership they will give u $100 credit to a locksmith. He can cut a key from the keycode in your passenger door. usually its around $150 to get keys made from ignition/door panel. I just had my supra done yesterday didn't cost me anything thanks to my caa membership.

Good luck, any locksmith can do this job for you. Call and make an appointment

Nope. But I will suggest you getting a CAA/AMA membership. You seem like the perfect candidate to make a solid return on his dues.

Yup, I did the same thing last week, Nissan needed my VIN and my Registration. Then they cut me a new key for 11 bucks.

I thought the same thing too.

Seriously, $11 to get a new key cut from Honda? wow, is it for all models, or just ones without the immobilizer?

Wow I didn't know that you could get a key from the dealership with the vin and registration. I guess, you learn someone new everyday

Think.. Uh.. Yeah .. I didn't even know you could do this. I always thought you need that little tiny tag with the key # on it to get a new one cut. Didn't think they could do it with a VIN, but I suppose that would make sense.

Anyway, hope it got resolved and you got the keys out of your baby. :nut:

Take it to the foods section at Wal-Mart, they cut keys the best, and the cheapest!

Without the immobilizer. Cutting a key for an S2K is minimum $200.
