Hey guys, does anyone have experience with these 2 courses?

Right now im debating which class is the easier one to take.

Econ 527 - World oil Econ, with WD. Walls (grading scheme has increased to 59% or lower = F, I had Walls for 499.63 and it wasnt too bad at all, so i know what to expect from him)

Econ 431 - The Canadian Labor Econ, with Anna Ferrer (horrible english accent, have no background information about this prof)

Thanks for you input!

ECON527. Sounds more interesting out of the two.

are you in Oil concentration? If not, there are a better/more interesting 400/500s out there to take for sure.

Ferrer is a fucking idiot, doesnt know how to teach, doesnt know how to talk, hard as fuck exams.

I would agree with this statement.

I had Ferrer for Econ 349 and she was a joke.

Between the two I would do 527 if I was you.

English accent? She's actually from Spain. And no, I haven't heard anything good about her classes. She's one half of a married couple that universities often hire. Of course, in this case it's her husband (also in the department) that's the better researcher/instructor of the two. Not to worry though -- there's another husband/wife tandem in the department and in that case the roles are reversed (wife is the excellent researcher / instructor while the husband is dead weight).

Haven't gone to 431 yet, but hopefully ferrer is not as bad as you guys say she is

Does she give a large workload?

Im taking 527 in the spring. Sounds interesting. I hope is an extention of 325. If someone is taking this class this semester wanna save your midterms and notes? I'll exchange with some classes that I have taken.
