Well today i was driving and my car started to make a noise i have never heard a car make, Its kind of hard to explain so ill try my best..

You know when a newer style bus is slowing down it makes that loud humming noise.. well thats pretty much what my car is doing..its not comming from my engine since i can iether be in N or in gear, it seems to get louder the slower a get.. so with that said anyone have a clue on what it could be?

The car is a 1986 Audi 5000 QT

it shouldnt be too hard...make sure that u got something to push the old wheel bearing out and put a new one in! they offer kits for free at Canadian tire but be aware that you are going to need alot of power to take one out and put a new one in!

well been calling around and talked to a guy named george at Tunedub, anyone ever gotten work done there before? he seems like the guy to go to after talking to him seeing how the cost for parts and labour is cheaper then the part alone at the audi dealship.. so anyone been there before?

Yes ive taken my car numerous times to tunedub and know alot of ppl that have as well! Actually my car is goin in on wednesday! haha

Every person ive talked to that has a vw/audi they all said that the work taht he has done has been nothin short of great! hes a great car, its one of those mechanics that you dont feel like he will rip you off by telling you you need headlight fluid! :P

haha good i like to hear good things about him, yeah he quoted me 300 bucks for the front wheel bearing parts and labour, most other places are 150-250 just for the bearing it self.. so i think i will bring my car to him next week...

Pick up a used spindle/hub at the pick-n-pull and replace it yourself. Not hard if you are half decent with a wrench.

^ Either that or you were showing off in the snow and dinged a curb damaging a wheel bearing.
