So after much decision and thought I have purchased a a summer car which is fast, well it's another 300ZX twin turbo from Japan, black exterior, 5 speed manual 2+2.

Here's where it gets interesting it has 463 to the rear wheels, 18 inch stern light weight wheels, twin trust turbos, apexi air flow system, blitz blow off valves, boost controoler, boost guage, catback exhuasts, front mount intercooler (it's huge) 300km/h bomex speedo. Pics coming I am going to get it tuned properly and thinking about doing couple mods and hitting closer to 500hp

sick man! Sounds good. I love my 300 and I honestly think I'll buy another one next year if I can find one in good condition.
Got any PICS?

Actually, suprisingly its not that bad, all the vital shit is in the open. Im doing a twin turbo swap into an NA at the moment, and i havent had too hard of a time so far, and the origional engine is out and on the floor. I also just changed the turbos on it, and im pretty sure i could change the turbos while the engine is in the car if i wanted. They were smart about how they did all the lines/piping.

Sounds like a fun ride man, do us a favor, dont let us see a thread about it meeting the business end of a light pole.

Well since race city is closed what would be a good spot to run this car, and should I run 100 octane to run higher boost. Anybody want to guess the times?

You wont be any faster by just running race gas and turning the boost up. To take advantage of the higher octane you will need to re-tune your car.

Even with 500whp, he won't manage that in Calgary.

ok so if you think 14's, stock 300zx twin turbo with boost leaks and not running that great can acheive that, can't wait to post times anyone wants to race for fun around same horsepower that would be great.

Congrats, but it's not cool to type on the internet about you humming and hawwing about fast it's gonna do in the 1/4. Get the maintenance on track, ensure it's track worthy and let us know how you do!

Pics please!

I don't think he will break 12's and that's if he is a good driver. 12.5+ if he`s inexperienced.

i would guess this too,

right about high 12's, doesnt sound like the OP is very experienced either

Where would be a good place to get it dynoed from? Well as for as experience goes I am new to this car but once I get the hang of it experience will build on. We'll see what happens I am going to post times once I do, perhaps next summers it should be hitting low 11's

You cant run 14's with a boost leak.

The car runs 14.2-13.8 in perfect condition stock.. even with a small leak.. 15's.

Maybe you should have looked into this car a little more. With the amount of power you will be running.. you are looking at some bad bad wheel hop unless you are planning on overhauling the suspension.

Toma is always a good choice.. find a good Nissan mechanic as well or learn to work on cars yourself. Modded cars are fun but also create headaches.

a full service as soon as you get her in Calgary is a good bet, then dyno to see what sort of HP you are putting down.

Mid to low 12's if you can get the power down. Invest in drag slicks.

This is so true. It's funny how many "10 and 11 second" cars are around here that never reach those times at the track, or make it out to the track.

01-18-2009, 10:26 PM
Before you go off too make even more power, the rear ends in those cars were weak...

I would suggest checking out Jim Wolf Tech, they make some of the best stuff for that car.

And Option Import is a great place to take the car, one of the owners worked at Brasso for many years and knows 300zx very well.

01-19-2009, 11:46 AM
Well there might be not so many 10 second cars, but even if I get 13's I am still happy cause I like the car not only because it's good looking but I know what it's capable of doing on the streets and that is enough power for me, and Oh yea some people like me have better things to do on a weekend then go and see the times on your car every week, I am not saying I won't come out but only once and that is when I have nothing better to do. So you shall all wait until then.

gonein10
01-19-2009, 11:57 AM
People dont hit the track cause they have nothing better to do! Its a fun time and I'd rather be doing that then most other things... btw nice car! looking forward to seeing what it can do

It is a fun thing to do once in a while, but I think I'd rather do something different then trying to shit kick my car and beat my times so often.

When you race at the track it's addicting. You will want to try and do better than your last run every time. Especially if you are hoping for 500whp. It will take a lot of runs to perfect your time, and there usually is always some room for improvement.

thats funny, I have not had anything blow up on any of my JDM cars except a day time running light fuse

If you bag the shit out of any car, JDM OR USDM you will have stuff blowing up if you like it or not.

he is assuming that the OP is going to bag the shit out of his car because he is telling us it will do 11s, well my friend if he wants to hit 11s hes not going to take it easy on the throttle now is he.
