Sundin penalty, Coyotes with the 2nd worst powerplay scores on Luongo.

So that's 3 times Sundin's been in the box when they get scored on? First two were game winners against

Wait. You're comparing us against the Sharks on their home turf versus the Coyotes at GM Place? Well, for your sake, I certainly hope you win!

My bad I worded that one like an 08. I meant to say that even though kipper let the first one in we (the flames) will end up winning. Unlike the Canucks :)

make that 4-0. Very sad.

I'm pretty confident that Mats and Luongo will get it together shortly. They better - or my team is going nowhere but down in the standings...

vancouvers D has to get it together, im not watching the game, but im sure its not just luongo letting in all bad goals

I don't doubt Luongo will get his shit together, but I think Mats is still overhyped.

mats isn't overhyped. dude has serious skill. starting in january is weak. not this year. maybe next.

Fair enough. I can agree with that once he gets back to a point a game form. He's just not the savior some Canuck fans think he is.

i think he will be... next year. they need time to gel.

I hope the Coyotes can keep up their play for the rest of the season and make the playoffs this year. I'd love to watch playoff hockey in Glendale for a change.

Yeah, maybe when he's 40 he'll live up to all the hype.

and with a score of 4-1, that makes this the third game Sundin's been in the box during the game winner against

Mats is a great player. His stats don't lie. But when you take 3/4 of a year off, I think it takes a while to get back to form. And I truly hope he does.

I didn't expect Lou to do fantastic when he first came back. Even in seasons, he is a slow starter. He cannot be totally blamed; the team just didn't have it going on today. Or this week. Or the month for that matter.

The team has to get going, Lou and Mats need to get back to form. All of this is possible - but hardly guaranteed to happen. But right now, to be honest, the team is a bit of an embarassment. Yes - I'll admit it.

Luongo performed as he should. Great tendy, but just practicing takes him out of the zone, its nothing like a game situation and mentally going back in the pipes when your team is in a slump and so much expectation of him, I wouldn't be surprised if it was just a pure mental lapse, especially on home ice. He'll come back in the next game or two.

Oh, and on Sundin next year....it wasn't very well reported, but although the original offer from the Canucks was 2 years, Sundin is on a 1 year contract. If he does anything better next year, it could be with another team. Keep in mind he's pretty old.

I feel your pain. Thats been four games that I have shut it off after the first period.
Sundin is not any way our knight in shinning armour. I was hoping that at best he would average .5 point a game considering his age.
For lou i was happy he is back, but it was almost given that he would look rusty.

But i will also have to admit embarassment is a huge understatement, its down right ugly hockey to watch.

HAHAH whoa whoa I don't think I've ever been on here bragging about my team or made ridiculous claims about winning the Cup or calling Mats a savior, I usually like to talk trash about the Flames that's it....I'll still cheer for them even when they're sucking like right now, I'm not too worried...it's still January! :poosie:
