So I picked up my bike today and moved it to it's new temporary home. While it's there it's going to be getting painted, as I wanted a black bike and this one is blue and purple.

The girl who owned it before I did put on a ton of purple accents and I'm going to get rid of them. Purple's not really my thing anyway ;)

So here she is, fresh off the cube van and dirty as hell! She only has 5,320 km on her!

Yea, she already did the mods that I was going to do (intake, exhaust, fender eliminator, flush signals). Aside from paint I probably won't mod her any further.

...

She also gave you a seat cowl and removed that grab rail. Definitely a plus.

Congrats on the bike!

Haha, I actually sold that bike to Jodi. I was the first guy to ever ride it :)

Did she tell you why she sold it? she was pretty hardcore about it when she first bought it.

you're going to love this bike. just turn down the gay by summer.

I didn't know you could put an aftermarket intake system on this? what is it, just a different filter?

She wants a 'Busa apparently. I think she may have already put down a down payment. She said she knew you :P

Tuned by who and where? I heard you could get an ECU upgrade that gave it some more power but I don't know where.

You'll need a Power Commander USB (around 399 or so) and a Dynojet dyno with the tuning link software.

We have the tuning link software and a dynojet dyno, which will interface with the Power Commander. Pretty much all you do is put a sniffer up the pipe, and ride the bike on the dyno. After all is said and done you'll be at around $700.

However, I'd ride the bike first and see if it's fuelling ok.. you'll probably only gain a few HP in the end so it might not be worth it.

talk to richard at redline motorsports if you're lookin at doing the power commander...awesome guy, and offers a package deal with the commander and the dyno tune (as he has a shiny new dynojet dyno in his shop)

pm me for contact info since I'm pretty sure I'm not allowed to post it on here

Unless you have a stock bike to compare against you won't know the difference, but putting the pipe on takes away some of the low and midrange power. Also, the preciseness of fuel and throttle response is not as good with an aftermarket pipe without a PC.

PC is worth it if you plan on keeping the bike for a while and can part with the dough

Meh, on an SV you'd hardly notice.. the difference is going to be 1-3 hp at any given RPM

The only reason I think I'd part with the cash is if the bike is surging or has driveability issues..

Awesome choice...one of the best all around bikes you can get. You might want something bigger after a season or two, but you'll have a blast the SV!

I'm looking forward to the riding season, that's for sure. I'm going to see how it rides before I determine if I want to get a power commander or not. I think it'll be okay.

Insurance will be dirt cheap for that thing too.

Running your plate underneath the tail WILL get you tickets.. save some cash to pay those off. Shouldn't get you any points tho.

Looking good!

^ Not if its dealer installed or has a light.

My bike came from Blackfoot with the plate like that... however it was a factory mod done by the dealership, as it was required to fit the TBR slip on. The kit came with everything needed to remount the OEM light on it.

Several police officers pulled me over and asked about it, and each and everyone said its fine, abiet because of the light.
yeah one guy who rode a bike himself said "there is no other way to mount it" when commenting about its placement and angle. I didn't say anything, in fact I agreed wholeheartedly.
but I love it as the wheel almost completely blocks it from the back view, and its too angled to be caught by any photoradar or redlight cameras.

Man I love loop-holes and grey areas. :)

Thanks for the compliments guys. Went for a nice long ride today, just got back now. There's a little bit of gravel, but not too much.

I'll see about relocating the plate. I like the location of it now, but if it's going to be a hassle I may just move it.

Yes, today was gorgeous. I'm very glad that I decided to leave work early. Was able to take the Striple out for the first time this year - washed it, and nearly emptied a full tank before hitting a patio on 17th.

The SV looks great! Awesome paint job.

Take care out there - my buddy already saw one guy go down hard today because of gravel.
