How the hell do you stop telemarketers from constantly calling your house?

Fuckin telemarketers, is it me or are they the most annoying people who just never go away? I get at least 6-10 calls a day and it pisses me off, cause if I dont pick up they just spam my answering machine inbox and then I have to constantly empty it. I usually dont pick up, but then they keep calling and eventually ill pick up and tell them to fuck off and remove me from their calling lists.

I just had one dude call me saying he was from elections canada and asking me to make a donation to the election parties for $200 because elections are expensive to run lol. Whatever scammer :devil:

I get some here and there, from companies I deal with. If you tell them to take you off their list, they have to.

The do not call list doesnt stop them, which I expected.

What I do is put them on hold indefinitely. Even at work, provided I have a line or two free.

YOUR NUMBER IS MORE PUBLIC once you add yourself to the NDNC list; telemarketers can see the list of numbers that were added to the list by simply signing up and paying $50 on the 'Do not call list' site.

We have a game at my work...

Start talking to them and asking them questions, see how far and how personal you can get. Start by asking them where they are calling from (what state etc...) what the weather is like, what they are wearing... usually they hang up by number 3....

I use the script below quite frequently.

The other thing I do is when they ask for "Jack or Mr. whoever" I just yell whatever name they say like its not me like "Dave! Phone!" Then I put the phone down and wait two minutes, pick it up and say yup he comin' just hang on, and repeat. I figure the longer I f'k with them the less they will be calling someone else.

get caller id, and just don't answer any calls from numbers you don't recognize, or if you don't want to do that, at least the numbers without a 403 area code. I found that most of the telemarketers don't have a 403 area code. If you accidentally miss an important call this way, they'll usually leave a message if it's actually of any importance.
