Only reason i wanted one of these was cause they were pretty rare, you never saw much of them on the road. But now since there legal to import it'll just become another JDM shit box you see everyday

I can't wait to see these around. If I manage to sell the soarer in Spring then I'm getting one.

These look way better than the Supra and AWD so good for year round. Should be cheaper as well, I'm guessing under 10k for now.

I'd like to own one of these but in LHD. Apparently some European countries did get them in this format. The question is how rare were they and would it be viable to source one from there. Anyone know of reputable European importers who could help?

can somone buy a JDM one and crash it? then i could take advantage of a part out! i would pull the engine and the rear diff out of the JDM one and swap it to my USDM celica. The second red celica isnt a GT-4, its replica (2wd)

the headlights can be changed with with projector style ones which are a farcry in looks. There is a guy named Tuffy on the celica forums that is pushing out over 600hp and is around the 10second mark on the 1/4mile. If anyone could get a WRC one, that would be sick. they come factory with water injection and a intercooler spray bar. all you have to do is install some relays and switches to get them working.

if i had the money, i would rep one without a hitch. I would find a blown up celica in the states and convert the GT-4 to a left hand drive.

this sucks! my car wont be a rare sight anymore. the only reason i like my car is because its not seen everyday like a integra. now jdms one will be b.tter looking and will be much faster/

I would imagine a 5500 car be a poor condition ST205 needing a lot more work after getting here.

A good condition one and you're looking at 12,000 after all's said and done.

As for the spray bar on the WRC model
There's gonna be quite a bit of things to replace to get it running. cuz the component's been sitting idle for 15 years. It should still work, but you've gotta work for it.

RHD if it's from Japan
There are some LHD from Europe but I have no idea how common they are.

$5500 is really cheap...but you get what you pay for!

LHD models would be pretty rare I would imagine, best bet is to check Germany and some other EU countries. Then to ship that here is another headache.

Are you using conversion rate from 2 years ago when Canadian was on par with US dollar?

The exchange used to be 100 yen = 1.1 Canadian
now it's more like 100 yen = 1.4 Canadian
that means a 8,000 car back in the day would cost about 10,000 now

Cars are actually that cheap, If bought for 2 or 3 grand they can be landed for less than 5.

I bought a WRX type RA with 58000kms on it, owned by a dealership and passed several inspections with all records of being dealer serviced, clean title, etc. For 3900USD landed.

Phenominal, even though conversion sucks - Japanese dealers and my broker can usually cut Canadians a break on our crappy dollar!

$10,000 would still be a reasonable price for a 90s Toyota AWD Turbo 255hp 4cyl

It's funny how everybody thinks 10 grand is cheap. LOL wait until you get the bill for buying parts when you need to replace shit. Everything has to be imported. i love the 6th gen style, but when it comes to maintaining everything you're going to run into problems.
You can find LHD 6th gens in some parts of germany, and finland i believe. Gt-fours are strong cars. I met a guy who lives in the states who imported a 6th gen about a year or two ago just for track use, just buying general parts rotors, pads sent him close to 1000 bucks.
I love the 6th gen to death, but its a lot of money to maintain such an old car.
But if your an enthusiast do it! once I'm out of school it will probably be one of the first cars i buy out of school!

I think that this would be a really cool car to have especially if you had one of the 1st ones on the street in Canada. The styling is way bettter than the st185 and the newest generation celica. Plus it would have some power to back it up.
