No surprise to see Heath on there, however Robert Downey Jr. being nominated is wicked

Dark Knight was shut out with the exception of Heath.

Heath technically was a supporting actor but it would seem more fitting if he was in the leading role category.

Art Direction: Dark Knight
Cinematography: Slumdog
Director: Slumdog Millionaire
Costume: Milk
Music: Slumdog
Best Picture: Slumdog
Visual Effects: Dark Knight (sooo pulling for IronMan though :( )

Not joking at all. I thought the movie was some of the worst shit I'd ever seen. Right up there with Pineapple Express...

Jlude, the nomination isn't for the movie, the writing or the other actors. RDJ was GREAT in the role, plain and simple, enjoying the movie or not...

I was upset not to see Mark nominated for anything.
He worked very hard as a magician in the Moosehead beer commercial.
Does anyone know how he made that jacket disappear so well?

I'm not surprised. The Academy Awards are more about the artsy side, which inherently handicaps the blockbuster movies.

:werd: didnt even know it was RDJ until someone told me.
I heard Slumdog was great, planning to watch it this weekend.
TDK is overrated anyway except Heath, hope he wins.

The fact that a crap movie like The Dark Knight is not on the best picture list is proof that there is a God :p

Lead Actor: Brad Pitt....Rourke if not. I like Brad though, and the movie was good. I liked The Visitor a lot though so it's nice to see Richard Jenkins nominated.
Sup Actor: Ledger (I havent seen Milk or Doubt)
Lead Actress: Haven't seen any of these movies. I heard Changeling was good though.
Sup Actress: Taraji P. Henson
Animated: Wall-E
Art Direction: Benjamin Button, if not then DK
Cinematography: Slumdog Millionaire
Director: Slumdog Millionaire
Costume: No Idea
Editing: Slumdog Millionaire
Music: Slumdog Millionaire
Best Picture: Slumdog Millionaire or Benjamin Button
Visual Effects: Benjamin Button
Writing: Benjamin Button or Slumdog again..
wow im biased....i liked those 2 movies a lot. :D

Not bad, I'm happy for Slumdog but the biggest rip is The Reader getting the best picture spot and not The Dark Knight or the Wrestler.
The oscars seem to just love Nazi war movies despite how bad they are. The Reader only has a 60% rating on rottentomatoes and yet its getting a few noms.
Overall the ones that are almost 100% garunteed to win are:
Visual effects: Benjamin Button for sure. You should see some of the CGI effect shots they used. In the first half they used Brad Pitts face on someone else's body.
Supporting Actor: Heath Ledger deserves it the most and everyone is rooting for it so pretty obvious.
Animated movie: Wall-e without a doubt. Kung Fu Panda was good as well but Wall-e is something else.
Best Actor: This one I'm guessing Mickey Rourke for sure.

Hahaha, I know that bud! I just HATE that movie so much that my hate spills over onto RDJ.
I guess I didn't really watch the whole movie, and because I didn't like it, I just wrote the whole thing off.
Way to jump all over the narrowminded guy... real cool! :nut:

Ya, same scenerio, didn't finish it cause I thought it was stupid. Just being narrowminded again. Films like this are a waste to me.
What the hell is wrong with me.. I used to get baked, watch movies like this and laugh my ass off. Now I can't be bothered to even watch 10 minutes of it and instantly have a hate on for it without giving in a chance.
