How do I take a picture in black and white? I need to do some B&W pics for school. What settings do I use, how do I get to these settings?

you should be able to change it when you go into the menu system.... blahgz.
it's in my manual for my s45; i'm sure it's similar

go into ur menu system; and you should have like a bunch of options to the left of the LCD
two or three options from the top you should find the menu screen that will allow u to take b&w shots

sorry best i could do without going thru dumb manual
s200 has b&w tho rite? i'm not too sure :P

I am sure that you have to set it to "P" mode first. Then it's one of the items in the main menu when taking a shot. It should say "Effects" when you are on it. Push the right button then more options pop-up, mainly B&W, Vivid, Neutral and Sephia.

Worst comes to worst, go to the Canon website and download the manual for the camera.

You can also convert your colour images to B&W in Photoshop pretty easy if you want...

Hit the photo effects button (4th button from the left), just under the LCD screen until the photo effects menu comes up. Then just select B/W from the list.

I found the quality is better if you take the pictures in color, then use photoshop afterwards to render B&W or Sephia effects.

:werd: I find the same thing...load it into photoshop and desaturate it...should do the trick just fine :)
