View Full Version : Need Insurance Options for JDM RHD

I was with alpine(ING) for a year or so, the reason why I chose them is because they let me have temporary insurance(2-3 days) for vehicles that I recently acquired and needed to move from my house to mechanic's yard and from Vancouver to Calgary sometimes, they no longer let me do that so I'm looking for an insurance company with the following:

Insures RHD JDM cars
Monthly payment option
Temporary insurance (1-2 days)

If anyone is with or know a insurance company similar to this please let me know.

IIRC, they can't deny providing an insurance quote on the vehicle, they can only make your premiums stupid high.

Masked Bandit care to step in here?

The RHD is easy to deal with if you are only after PLPD. It's when you get into collision / comprehensive that things get messy. It can be done but it tends to be a bit of extra screwing around.

yea I've found that out phoning a few companies,
appraisal etcc etcc.

Liability is pretty easy to obtain

Just trying to find more options, really looking for companies that will do temporary liability (1 or 2 days maybe even half a day in case I get pulled over etc..) for relocation of vehicles purposes.

TD will fuck you around with rhd if you want parking insurance on your car, make you pay full price and give you a credit for the extra money once you put it on the road, makes having 2 cars crazy expensive

Wow really? I've been with TD for 5+ years, I have 3 cars one being the Soarer and it's parked all winter. Full coverage including glass in the summer, and fire theft vadalism in the winter.

no problem and top notch rates.

Mitchell Insurance "ING" allows temp insurance. Don't know why your broker doesn't allow it.
