Minnesota sells out every game - regardless of how well the team is doing. Being south of the border and in a hockey market as loyal as in Canadian markets would do it.

Calgary has sold out most games over the past 3 years or so as well... Maybe they have higher ticket prices, but we've been doing better in the playoffs than Minni so that should bring in more revenue.

I know how big hockey is in Minnesota, I used to live 20 minutes from the border, and they've lost a team before. Minnesota North Stars!

Edmonton and Calgary would be higher if we didn't have to pay for Montreal's tickets...

I'm assuming that "Value of team based on current arena deal (unless new arena is pending), without deduction for debt (other than arena debt). " likely explains for some of the surprises. Edmonton also has a reduced revenue stream because of their small arena capacity.

Overall I think people should just take this sort of stuff with a grain of salt because it can vary greatly depending on how you evaluate the numbers.

Minnesota has sold out every single game the Wild have ever played....even pre-season (allegedly). The Flames don't sell out pre-season games.

My first Flames game was a Flames-North Stars game...

From what I understand, the North Stars left Minnesota not because of attendance, but because of poor management and management controversies.

Possible. I've actually never read up on it, I was only 9 when they left.
