Only thing that looks really odd is the wheel setup. Concave up front, flat rears, just looks funny.

That's one hell of a gas pedal.

That's actually not a pedal, the left is brake, the right is gas....sequential with paddles...

Correct me if I'm wrong, race guys...

Correct me if I'm wrong, race guys... That's what I thought at first but the "paddles" didn't really look like paddles to me and I couldn't think of any other reason that humongous chunk of metal would be there. Even stranger is whatever the chunk of metal is mounted on. I could be wrong though.

my guess is so your foot doesn't accidentally slide off the gas pedal?

Maybe you guys didn't see the 2 foot high shift lever...... That is the gas pedal.
On another note I would do unforgivable things to drive a car of that caliber.

Snaatch, thanks for the sarcasm laden comment but that is a sequential transmission and they don't have normal foot cluches as far as I know.

I am still waiting for someone with ACTUAL knowledge and experience to chime in, not people who THINK they know. K? Thanks.

Sorry man, he's got you there ;) Clutch is normally used for standing starts on most dogboxes

Ok, that's all I was looking for - a valid comment, not someone just saying "duh lookit teh shifterz!" You'll notice that in my first post on the subject I wasn't sure...

Standing corrected....

;) some people dont notice these things.

EVEN if the thing had paddles, which i dont beleive it does. Why would you invest a SHIT load of money for a sequential gear box on your F430 track car(and install the shifter) and keep the paddles.. It just makes it less reliable which is one thing you cannot afford on a race car, and you are adding weight and YES 10lbs makes a difference.

and yes it would have a clutch, even on a sequential gear box you may be required to use the clutch for downshifting and starts. Upshifting on the other hand clutching is not required.

QUESTION: Considering Tire dynamics, why is it that F1 cars car run such a high sidewall compared to most of us "Tuners" which seek this LOW profile side wall to reduce tire flex under heavy cornering. My dad posed the question to me and i had no honest strong reply.

My only reasoning is that the tires are heavily re-enforced reducing flex and the fact that the car is so rigid maybe they are allowing for a taller tire to reduce tireskip and other related things due to low profile tires/ high pressured tires.

No need to get your panties in a knot, you asked people to correct you if you were wrong and I did. I figured you would know that you needed a clutch pedal to engage the gearbox, sequential or 6 speed. but since you didn't I figured you thought it had paddle shifterz.

I'm going to agree with this: yellow headlights don't look good on anything, ever.
