what amp did you have running this? anything other then newer jl will not work iirc because final impedance is 3 ohms

nvm i see now that you have a 500/1 fs aswell. strange that you would under power it by 250w though...

the 10w7 is rated at 750watts rms at continous/peak levels. powering it at 500w rms via the 500/1 represents the best balance between long-term reliability, high output and low distortion performance. You will be taking full
advantage of the woofer's optimum, low-distortion performance range without undue risk of failure.
also being in a ported box the woofer becomes a little more efficient in the power that it uses.
you can also referrence the jl website in which they recommend the 500/1 as a match for this setup.

not true....you can use any amp that will load down to 3ohm 2ohm or even 1ohm the key is to tune it properly so that you don't slap a 1ohm amp on it with the bass boost and gain turned all the way up.
my girlfriend has the same setup in her truck except we are using a 1000watt rms @ 1ohm phoenix gold amp. the key is in the tunning..
