http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s267/RZRSHARP_SVX/IMG_0085-1.jpg

then the sr20det couldnt handle what I was throwing at it so I had to do a rebuild

thanks. I think I might be able to hit the 12s but who knows.

I am also working on doing an s13 silvia front end. I got sick and tired of the pop-ups.

very nice build man... you have alot of the same stuff I have on my build. What are you running for ECU?

RZRSHARP_SVX

I will be going something a little more baller eventualy. but what I have isnt so bad for now. but my main concern now is the power-terain all go no show is better than all show and no go

RZRSHARP_SVX

well after pondering for a week on why it wasnt starting found that the starter needed a better ground. so a made one.

therefore I have a Running built SR20det

now just need to sort out the idle and get fuel managment and its all good.

and put the hood on and miscelanious things.

If you're gonna rock that bumper, Please get skirts, rear and better fitting wheels, Otherwise it looks awkward, IMO anyway..

RZRSHARP_SVX
03-01-2009, 03:15 PM
I plan to. when I get out of school and get it tuned.

bumper came with the front end. I dont plan on keeping it.

as for the brakes they are stoping me but I do plan on upgrading this year.

You going to get matching skirts and rear bumper. Seems kinda like the front drops way lower to the ground than the sides and back...Looks awesome though despite that hehe.

Dude that is sick,
Your doing exactly what i want to do if i get a 240sx coupe.
Looks like alot of fun,
Why the rebuild?

RZRSHARP_SVX
03-16-2009, 06:47 PM
thanks.

I did the rebuild because in July 08 I was running into quite a few issues with the motor)

Such as: 1. Blown exhaust seals (I couldnt see out my rear window since there was so much smoke.
2. Extreme case of blow by/crank presure (was shooting dipstick out of tube and every tube off the valve cover)
3. Head Gasket

and I figured if I have to take it out I might as well do it right the first time. and not waste my time with shit parts.

Thus as you see it there.

Update: New Fuel managment. Power FC. and dyno tune. 260whp. still need to work out a few bugs but time for update. and car drives way more reliably. for those of you who know how bad it was.

and new pics of the car. I can use that bumper I have before due to certain reasons. so I have a stock one on the car for now.

i'll bet its the boost pressure, what is it set at OP? you should be seeing almost bang on 300whp at around 20 psi even at our elevation.

sugoi240
06-03-2009, 04:41 PM
Check your timing and your fuel ratios.
I'd expect around 400.

Sorath
06-03-2009, 05:12 PM
It's not the boost pressure. That motor wasn't built right. Afaik he was boosting 17 psi

RZRSHARP_SVX
06-03-2009, 05:31 PM
yeah something isnt right. I might have to talk to the machine shop about this. with the amount thats in this 260whp is not acceptable. it felt more powerful before the re-build

sr20s14zenki
06-03-2009, 06:28 PM
What is your boost pressure? Its a 2871 right? should be seeing more than what you are. Ayman made 360 to the wheels at 16 psi with his gt3082. Pretty much same build as yours, minus the different turbo thing. What are your compression numbers like? Who tuned it?

RZRSHARP_SVX
06-03-2009, 06:43 PM
its a gt2871 .82a/r currently running 17psi.

I have just finished a compresion test
1- 139psi
2- 142psi
3- 140psi
4- 150psi

The tune was done at auto-dream.

ending list of problems you run into..

engine was up to normal operating temp?

Most say once there isn't a large percentage disparity between cylinders you're good.

the FSM should have what is the acceptable psi range.

RZRSHARP_SVX
06-03-2009, 07:29 PM
yeah I did check the FSM and brand new spec is 156psi. so I am withing the ball park. I figured as much that since the numbers arnt to far apart. They are in an acceptable range acording to the FSM.

06-03-2009, 07:32 PM
wow only 260 ben!? :(
I put 247, and i need new tune and clutch haha.
fix this shit!

sr20s14zenki
06-03-2009, 10:11 PM
Your compression numbers are fine. You have a powerFC? Talk to Toma, see when he has time to dyno you. jesus...i got 240 horsepower to the wheels out of my stock block with 13 psi from my gt2860......so something isnt right.

Are you sure your CAS is set 100% correctly?

Redlyne_jr
06-03-2009, 10:22 PM
how much did autodream charge you?

dj_honda
06-03-2009, 11:01 PM
who built your motor?

sugoi240
06-03-2009, 11:27 PM
New fuel management?
Other than pfc, was there anything else? New adj FPR?

I have a almost the same setup, but no block and head work, 2871 and I'm running 366whp, 140across 4 pistons.
18psi.

the adj fpr is the only thing I see I have over you.
Check your timing, (cas/ chain) and make sure the crank
turns properly and not too tight. Cams should be at 8lbs
of torque.

MAke sure your fuel is what it should be, at approx 60psi
when at power, 45psi when idling.

You should be in the 400s

Sorath
06-03-2009, 11:39 PM
just so everyone knows autodream did not build this car, the op did it himself. before anyone starts pointing fingers

962 kid
06-03-2009, 11:39 PM
I imagine it's all in the tune, the car pulled much harder before the PowerFC was installed and tuned. The chipped ECU and 14psi was making much more power.

Sorath
06-04-2009, 12:37 AM
its not the tune, its the motor, clearly he didnt build it properly/up to spec

962 kid
06-04-2009, 07:18 AM
You're right, the car magically lost power when the chipped ECU was replaced with the PowerFC. As soon as that happened, the engine came out of spec. The tune obviously has nothing to do with it

Sorath
06-04-2009, 07:49 AM
some cliff notes.

OP was running chipped ecu.
OP built own motor after toasting his.
OP broke in the motor.
OP bought power fc for tuning.
OP got his car tuned.
Car pulled harder before motor was rebuilt.

its nothing to do with the tune.

You can't write cliff's notes if you haven't read and understood what happened first. The car pulled hardest after precise rebuilt it, before the PowerFC tune.

I'm curious to see what the end results will be. Not cool of autodream to charge a substantial amount for the tuning with such poor results then not even offer any feedback as to what the issues might be. if it's a case with the engine however then there is nothing more autodream could have done.

i've had many problems with autodream, i brought my car there 4 times to get it fixed apparently, paying atleast $400 a time, one of the repairs was $750 and they still didnt fix it, i paid them over $2000 :banghead: then losing hope in them i brought my car to alvin automotive paid $290 to fix it and they found out it was a wireing harness problem after i paid autodream $350 to wire my wireing harness while the swap was being done.

none the less, they gave me $300 back from the 2 grand i paid them

shadyyyyyy work, i wouldnt not recommend going to them, i would not buy parts from them, i would not talk to them, find someone else to work on your nissan.

btw it was a rb25det c33

my car would break down the day or 2 after i got it back from autodream every time

RZRSHARP_SVX

its not winter if you dont do something to the car so i made some minor improvements. next on the list would be a new tune among other things maybe a low 12 in the 1/4

new brakes, suspension wheels and stance

Big Update

well i had my exhaust system crack on me. so i had to replace it.
http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s267/RZRSHARP_SVX/allnew010.jpg

finnaly got the car retuned. it did 324hp at the wheels safely but was able to get a run in a 350whp but was nocking to much. So i may need to run higher octance than 91. I am considering methanol or race gas. The important thing is that it runs much better than it has recently.

http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s267/RZRSHARP_SVX/IMG_0342.jpg

I also am upgrading almost all my control arms and sway bars.
new motor lower profile motor mounts to my throttle body doesnt hit my hood. When I had it out to a track day I was having a few issues with my tachometer so I thought I should change that.

http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s267/RZRSHARP_SVX/IMG_0048.jpg

I developed a decent parts pile.

After I detroyed 3 sr20 transmisions I got fed up so decided to make a little change to a 300zx transmision which is good for about 1000 hp. when I chose to do that I needed a new clutch too so I figured I would get one that would be amazing.

http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s267/RZRSHARP_SVX/IMG_0073.jpg

I got a Spec twin plate clutch good for approx 1200 ft-lbs

Since I am adding a better transmision to handle my current power level I thought I would give it a little more.

finnaly a bit of update. Some good and some bad news.

bad news I blew up my gt2871. but I decided to do a small upgrade since the upgrade was cheaper than a strait across replacement. However I did get a few laps before the turbo blew up at race city.

http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s267/RZRSHARP_SVX/DSC_1023.jpg
http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s267/RZRSHARP_SVX/DSC_1018.jpg

and this it what happen to the turbo

http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s267/RZRSHARP_SVX/IMG_0131.jpg

and this is the new turbo in its box.

http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s267/RZRSHARP_SVX/IMG_0136.jpg

Since everything was apart I figured it was a good time to put the meth kit in.

http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s267/RZRSHARP_SVX/IMG_0137.jpg
http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s267/RZRSHARP_SVX/IMG_0139-1.jpg
http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s267/RZRSHARP_SVX/IMG_0141-1.jpg

and my new wheels for the track

http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s267/RZRSHARP_SVX/IMG_0135.jpg

http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s267/RZRSHARP_SVX/IMG_0132.jpg

Then once I got everything all back together I went to dyno to get everything all tuned up. And the result was 380whp on pump gas no meth. We ran out of time to tune the car on the meth. I am happy with the result. definetly a bit of an increase from 323 whp. The dyno tune was done by Toma who was great and very helpful. highly recomend him to anyone else who needs a tune.

well the last track day back in september i have a problem develop with my water meth system. and it melted a corner right off my piston.
http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s267/RZRSHARP_SVX/IMG_0213.jpg

oldy enough it still made 90psi when I did a compresion test.

so I decided to do a re-build again but this time I am going to do a little bit more. I managed to find a stroker sr that had a spun rod bearing and just needed to get repaired. so the stroker is at the machine shop getting everything repaied.

I decided to install line lock for when I do the odd drag racing. I do have to Mickey Thompson Slicks sittingin my garage too.

The fender harness on this car just kept anoying me getting hit by the tire even with it relocated above the pinch weld. I went and did the over kill way.

this is the passenger side found most of the wire had to do with abs and automatic trans. which both of these no longer are in my car.

Dyno Time had loads of issues with fuel starvation and ended up replacing all fuel lines, pump and new regulator. I tried a brand new tomei fpr and I have that fail after a week and now I have a Aeromotive fpr in there now and seems to do the trick.

The car has been off and on the dyno over the past 4 months sorting these issues out and finnaly got satisfactory results

here is a pick just before it got towed to the dyno the first time.

before I parked it for the winter I had to confirm line lock worked properly so I left this on the side road.

Then I came across a change to make a huge change to the interior so I did.
