Most if not all of them will only accept donations if it's in decent condition because in the past they've had to pay to dispose of other people's garbage.

Post it on kijiji or in the Bargainfinder. We had some old furniture that we wanted to get rid of a while ago....posted in the Bargainfinder and a family came over to pick it up...they were pretty poor and greatly appreciated the furniture. Better to give it to someone who can use it rather than throw it in the garbage IMO.

Place a free bargainfinder ad by e-mailing it to [email protected]

I get rid of a lot of stuff on calgary freecycle, it's a yahoo group.
Or you can donate it to the women in need society, the sally ann or any of those places.

When I was moving back to Calgary I posted everything I wanted gone for free on Kijiji. It was gone in less than a day. Two couches, some old stereo equipment, a desk, chair, etc.

+1 on bargainfinder.

We posted an old heavy computer desk on it and it was gone in less than a day (posted in the morning, gone in the evening). If you can, take a rough measurement of what you're trying to get rid of so people who might pick it up will be able to do it in one or two trips.

I always post my freebies on UsedCalgary.com. Couch, Table, bed, TV...almost always gone same day.

Yup freecycle all the way. Small stuff I leave on the porch and the freecycle fairies come and take it away. It's fantastic.

Do you have a love seat or couch you need to get rid off? If so I can definitely take either one off your hands.

i'm glad it can be used and nto wasted and thrown in the landfill
there is a white leather couch. but since it WAS white it looks more like beige and has jean color that rubbed on it

i'm going to give first dibs to the women in need place first.
