I just moved out to Calgary and was wondering where all the prelude like to hang out and get their parts from. there are no preludes in some of the boneyards and i want to know where they are hiding. also would like to meet up with some of you guys and see what is going on with the cars.

Prelude enthusiasm has died way down. Everyone I know that used to be into them have moved on.

They've always been one of the harder Hondas to find parts for too - you're always paying a premium for used parts.

*EDIT*
Might want to try posting here:

im still into them!!!!

mainly because nobody else is into them...

there are never enough preludes around to get a prelude meet together... most iv seen was at the spring cruise... there was 2 of us.

haha damn, that sucks i see people driving them and some younger people, but i dont know who i can talk to. toronto has a huge forum for them, and a lot of part outs, but i guess nothing really here.

Last time I was in that thread, a few of us were reminiscing about our ludes.

Richard is right, with the AP1 becoming more affordable, the preludes aren't getting the attention as much anymore.

Yes, the TPC was (and still is) great. Like many others (here and at TPC), I have finally sold my 98 Prelude... mine became someone's winter beater :( ... with a Mugen twin-loop exhaust...

As for parts, I still have some around, but they're mostly for 5th gens... some might fit the 4th gen, like the rear suspension parts... rear Spoon strut tower bar, and a rear Tanabe lower strut brace. But your best bet is to get them from TPC members and have them ship it.

When I had my gen 2 teg I was at all the meets they had (and there were LOTS of those), but ever since I got the prelude, I haven't heard of a single one for preludes.
If you are having a get-together, you can probably count me in.

I'm on my second Prelude and the current ride is a beauty. Its got a 170 on the clock and it doesn't even burn oil. No rust. Its an absolute beauty. Its basically 100% stock too, besides suspension upgrades, and I actually like to drive it more then my other modded Prelude I owned.
However that being said, I do want to sell it.

sick of the non-torque?
it honestly all depends on the condition of the Lude. If it looks like new, there will be a buyer for you, because they are a dying breed, and its ridiculously hard to find unmolested Prelude's. If its in average to below average condition, its all about pawning it to the right teenage kid haha. My 01 SE i'm asking $9500. How many km do you have on yours?

The torque is actually quite good compared to the other 4 cylinder Hondas. You don't really notice it until you've driven the B series, D series, and certain K-series.

after the tune up and if its running great, and is is nice shape body wise, you're looking at the 6-8k range.

I just found this thread, and I have a Lude hidden away as well! At least hidden in the garage until the roads are in better shape, it's too low to get out of my complex yet!! My subie is fun, and a great winter car, but my lude still gets the most love.

Although I miss my 2 preludes (1997 and 1999) I had bad luck with them. I love the looks of these cars and power is pretty good with these cars as well. Maybe it'll make a come back one day.

Did you check out the official prelude thread? You'll have a few luck meeting some owners in that thread. Someone probably already mentioned it already but I'm too lazy to check right now.

great handling car too.. but if it was RWD, i would've kept one of the two 5th gens I've owned. I really wish it was RWD.. its a shame it was FWD. Reduced its real modding potential many times over.

I hear ya, I still have my 4th gen prelude, was going to sink a LOT of money into it but the main thing that put me off was the FWD, now I got my subie and love it to death but do miss driving my lude, I still think about doing it up gradually over time, but will probably put it up for sale for 2-3 grand this summer.

Very true! Mine is just a WRX, but I still have both, and don't plan to get rid of either car, but the Subie is the one getting more mod money for now.

I guess i should post in here:

Ive owned my prelude (1999) for almost 5 years now. Its gone
through a few make overs. Stock to a whole body kit
to now back to stock with a lip kit.

Performance wise, ive gone through 2 turbo kits. First
was a Greddy Turbo Kit, power was decent but not
enough for the money spent.

Next i sold the kit and pieced together a custom kit i picked
out. Engine was pulled out to replace timing belt, converted
to a manual tension, all seals and bearings were replaced
as well. Upgrade the clutch and flywheel. This turbo project
here took me about 1 year to finish.

Hit up the dyno last sept and made around 260whp on the
first tune to break in new bearings. The tune was a
very conservative tune, nothing aggressive. My plan
is to return back this april or may and go all out.

my first ever car was a 92 prelude, and sold that for my 01 about 2 years ago

only mods I've done to the 01 are a short ram intake with a BPi flowstack
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y84/kokanee27/P5060002.jpg

I was going to begin seriously modding her this summer, but over the winter she grew cancer:cry:
so first things first she needs surgery to get her back to prestine shape
as well i want to have the spoiler removed, anyone have a blakc trunk with no spoiler holes that wants to upgrade to a spoiler?

if you have an H23 get a 5th gen, but if you already have an H22, I'd say its a toss up

After driving my 4th gen (h22) i dont see how anyone could switch over to the 5th gen model. as it is way to boxey, all 4thgenners know we got the sexxy curves =)

what does driving the car have anything to do with the body... same frame and engine.

i agree your curves are kind of sexy, but take a look at our front end and weep

I've come down to either keeping the 4th and buying a bike or selling the 4th and just getting a 5th, but most likely gonna pick up a 5th, anyone have a 5th for sale?

I'm in the middle of getting a 91 SR, it's nothing special but it runs solid. My brother has an H22 4th gen. If there's any kind of meets this summer I'm down and I'm sure he'd be as well.

Well heck, anybody who's down for a meet some time soon should send me a message, if we get enough interest we should definitely schedule something! ColoDano, I'll put you down as being in, haha. So that makes three with my brother and I! Who else?

Hey, I PM'd you about that motor about a week ago. Also, if anyone else knows of a COMPLETE engine for sale at a reasonable price PM me.

I have a 93 lude that has been a tinker toy since I have owned it. I bought it stock with and F22 in it, then I turbo'd the F22 with a junkyard turbo out of a chrsyler. Unfortuanty the turbo had an oil leak so my car smoked like crazy anytime the turbo spooled. So after getting really frustrated about that I decided it was time to drop in an H22.

I had a few F22 blocks kicking around and got a good deal on a H22a head so I began the process of building a G22 hybrid following the H-T thread on the build... I still have the H22 head bolted to an F22 block in my garage as I felt to much could go wrong with this "frankenstien" build.

I then found a cheap H22a4 from a 97 with 120 000kms on it and decided to put it in. that is the current engine I have in but it has always thrown out black smoke if when I reach high RPM's. Recently something decided to go on it and it has began to idle really high probably between 2500 and 3500 rpm. It am getting a code 14 which is IACV and a code 12 but if I can find a complete, running engine that may be my cheaper option.

So there you have it, my history, my needs, and my problems with my 93 lude.

My last Lude (01 SE) didn't burn oil really. half a litre in 4000km (that's when I changed it). Best Lude ever.
