Well i finally made the move to get back into the honda scene after 2 years without a car. So i picked up some beat little 1992 eg hatch for 900 bux. Came with a b18a1, egay intake, projector headlights, egay coilovers, Skunk2 camber kit, a terrible exhaust and the usual rice boy stuff ie: racing pedals, floor mats , shift knob and stereo crap.
The bad:
rusty 1/4's both sides.
Rear bumper cracked
Front bumper cracked.
misc interior pieces missing or with holes drilled into them.
transmission only has 2, 4, and reverse gears
Windshield is pooched.
exhaust has got to go.
The plans:
Oem headlights with amber corners.
new bumpers, fenders and 1/4 panels
new black interior gutted from the door panels/front seats back
Type r seats
Serious wire tuck and interior tuck
And the rest is kind of under the radar as i'd like to keep my ideas original until the day it rolls out. Some rust and a blingin skull may be included.
The Mod list:
New oem front and rear bumpers
si lip
billet cam seal
oem headlights
amber corners
fastline performance shifter
omnipower full coilovers
Muteki extended open end lightweight lug nuts (blue)
New oem Left and right front fenders

Nice, that exactly what i'm looking for, what are your main goals/ideas for this car? I cant wait to get my EG6 project:D

Are you going to keep it the same colour?
Going to paint the side moldings too?

02-15-2009, 11:28 AM
Thanks Guys!
My goals are just to have a really fun to drive car. Take it to the track on weekends, auto -x and i'd really like to dabble in a bit of road racing with it aswell.
I'm going for a real good suspension setup and motor wise i plan on dropping in a gsr with a jackson racing supercharger. I'd like to see 210 220 whp and i'd be happy. SHould be fun!
I do plan on staying white, i'll be getting jdm thin moldings here soon and i'm unsure about painting them or not. I'd really love to do a beige/tan sandy color but i couldnt do it with out a full color change inside and out and thats to much work/money for me right now.

Got my oem headlights and amber corners in the mail friday, along with my lightweight lug nuts. I had some spray tint left over at work so i tinted my ambers pretty dark. Looks alot like the vision corners. Ordered new front fenders from pro body parts today. I'll have pics of the new parts up soon. May have a shiny new skunk 2 piece come the weekend, still undecided.

Update: So the skunk2 was sold when i went up today so I ended up ordering a new Apexi N1 full catback today. Should arrive in 3-4 weeks hopefully.

Sparx : Thanks and Yeah i have a feeling i'll be rocking the silencer for daily driving.
The fabric I picked up at Tandy leather on mcloed trail. I work right next door at Raven trucks so i stopped in on day to check it out. They have a range of colors there. Mine was on sale for 3 bux a square ft but its regular 5. Cost me 100 for 28 square ft at that price.
Cf cover isn't for sale unfortunalty haha ;)

Well finally managed to get an update on this. Ive been busy off and on all summer trying to finish this thing up and i'm very close to it now. Since the last list of parts ive added the following
: Apexi n1 full cat back exhaust
new oem cat
gp racing lcas
brembo blank rotors
hp hawk pads
new ls tranny
urethane shifter bushings
new bulbs in every location threw out the car
panasonic deck
new air filter
new oil,tranny,clutch and brake fluid
new starter
clutch slave cylinder and throwout bearing
alt belt
wire tucked the engine bay and rear hatch area
fuse box and battery both move inside
new oem honda suspension bolts
theres probably more but i forget now, all that it needs now is a new windshield and a battery tray so that i can get it inspected. Any more comments and opinions would be appreciated.

Joe-g, yeah i did all the wire tucking myself, its not really very hard at all. Just time consuming. Mine isnt complete either i still have my fuse box just hanging under my glovey i need to do alot of extending to get it to a mounting location, maybe over winter..

I will once everything mechanical is fixed, that comes first!
Today I installed a new water pump (old one was leaking coolant like a mofo), Timing belt, alternator belt, rad flush, brake fluid flush, and adjusted my EGAY coilovers so that the car wasnt low as fuck anymore. I still need to do transmission fluid, and CV joint boots. If you know anyone selling a decent pair of coilovers let me know as i am in need of them!

what kind of adhesive did you use to hold the suede down
SeeAreEx
09-30-2009, 09:23 PM
Just some 3m spray adhesive i found at our shop. I need to take a syringe and squirt some super glue under a small part where it didnt take but other then that it worked good. Make sures its clean and smooth and you let the glue sit a bit begore you stick it down.

I would like to see that done. Ive seen a S2K diffuser on an EK, but theres nothing for eg's. Theres one guy who made a custom one out of metal, but its not that atheistically pleasing.
SeeAreEx
10-13-2009, 05:44 PM
Yeah nothing really fits the eg chasis unless you go custom. we'll see what i can do, i dont want to give my idea away and have 7 other egs running diffusers come spring haha. I already have the factory cx rear diffuser that blocks off the driver side rear bumper area, the sti diffuser will fill the middle and the apexi exhaust covers a bit of the pass side but i might fab somthing up just to smooth out the flow on that side aswell. Not looking for any huge type of gains from it but the less turbulence the better and at the very least ill get better mpg and it will look somewhat cool doing it.
streethondas
10-13-2009, 06:28 PM

10-13-2009, 06:47 PM
Thats actually the picture i have to go from but mine will obviously not be dragging on the ground like that. Ill trim the length if i have to in order to get it to fit properly. It should be mounted flat or as close to in order to function properly so laying it under the subframe like that is just like making a parachute.

I think plus one randy's diffuser is to... i dunno sharp and unfinished looking. I want to make mine look like its almost supposed to be there from the factory, thats why im going with a factory piece in oem plastic. It will def look better then those two examples. It will be flush and flat under there thats for sure.

the rear diffuser smooths out the bottom while the spoiler roughs it up at the top lol good looking hatch and diffuser, minus the ghey lookin mirrors
OP - where did you pick up your oem diffuser to seal up the inner fender bumper gap? and if you dont mind me asking how much?
SeeAreEx
10-13-2009, 11:59 PM
That bys rear spoiler is actually proven to provide downforce on the eg6 in track conditions. Function>form in this case.
The diffuser comes factory on most cx model hatches. Its available on alot of the aftermarket parts vendors, inlinefour, password jdm, jhp etc.. Runs about 80 bucks with install kit. Mine came with the car :)

10-14-2009, 12:23 AM
you lucky bugger i'm thinking of ordering an oem one that gaping hole has bugged me since day 1.
i dont doubt that spoiler provides downforce that's a wicked angle, i'm just curious about the drag-factor trade off associated with it

Hahaha Never really thought about that i guess. I kinda like the looks of it and i've heard lots of good things about it function wise. Figured i'd give it a shot. Plus it gives me a spot to put all my mfg stickers with out them being to much of an eye sore.

Picked up some paint tonight. Flat tan for the winter wheels... If i drive it this winter.. Still unsure. And i grabbed another color to try out on the roof. Not sure if i'm set on it or not. We'll see but until its done im keeping it under wraps haha. Im sure nobody will like it tho. but thats ok. Its all about number one right?

The rising sun would be cool but it's just so typical or a Honda. I'll come up with something over the winter. Just waitin until the end of the month to hopfully order my 23mm asr sway bar and subframe brace. :)

Had some time at work today so I installed my new oem mudguards and antenna delete plate. Also sprayed my valve cover... Not quite the shade of purple i wanted but its still better then the cracked chipped and dirty black that it use to be.
Did a few more things under the hood, moved my ground to the back of the block, hacked off the top of the washer fluid tank, re wired a new headlight plug. I also completely re did my door panels since the old adhesive failed and all the suede was falling off. Its much better and tighter now. Started removing the sound deadening on the floor pans, does anyone know where to get dry ice in calgary?
I sprayed a couple coats of paint on my old winter rims, they look much nicer now that they are flat army tan in color. Tucked my gas door and trunk release cables inside the rear fenders inside along with the hatch wiring harnesses. Sanded down my roof for paint. And thats about it...
Going out to get a few things this weekend. A couple stickers made up, some rear suspension bolts and maybe a couple of seats from the pick n pull that i had my eye on.
My wink mirror also came in today shipped from the us in under 5 days. But i wasnt home to recieve it so ill get it monday.
Cheers guys happy weekend! haha

I need to shave my engine bay badly, how did u move the fusebox and everything did u take out ur dash?? I tried to do this on my old eg and I couldn't move a single wire lol
SeeAreEx
10-24-2009, 07:44 PM
I didnt have to remove the dash although it would make life alot easier. I put the fuse box in the glove box had to extend the main power wires.
Went to pick n pull today and grabbed a pretty mint black carpet and a black dash. Hopefully get them swapped in tommorrow. Finally get rid of all the nasty blue interior!!

Judging by how it was coming out... It may be a chore. We'll see though and i'll let you know how it went. Just takes alot of prep work really. The steering column needs to drop down and all the wiring un clipped etc etc...
