Well i finally made the move to get back into the honda scene after 2 years without a car. So i picked up some beat little 1992 eg hatch for 900 bux. Came with a b18a1, egay intake, projector headlights, egay coilovers, Skunk2 camber kit, a terrible exhaust and the usual rice boy stuff ie: racing pedals, floor mats , shift knob and stereo crap.

The bad:
rusty 1/4's both sides.
Rear bumper cracked
Front bumper cracked.
misc interior pieces missing or with holes drilled into them.
transmission only has 2, 4, and reverse gears
Windshield is pooched.
exhaust has got to go.

The plans:
Oem headlights with amber corners.
new bumpers, fenders and 1/4 panels
new black interior gutted from the door panels/front seats back
Type r seats
Serious wire tuck and interior tuck
And the rest is kind of under the radar as i'd like to keep my ideas original until the day it rolls out. Some rust and a blingin skull may be included.

The Mod list:
New oem front and rear bumpers
si lip
billet cam seal
oem headlights
amber corners
fastline performance shifter
omnipower full coilovers
Muteki extended open end lightweight lug nuts (blue)
New oem Left and right front fenders
Spun Supamesh 15x6.5 in gold.
Purple seude for headliner and door panels
Apexi n1 full cat back exhaust
new oem cat
gp racing lcas
brembo blank rotors
hp hawk pads
new ls tranny
urethane shifter bushings
new bulbs in every location threw out the car
panasonic deck
air raid air filter
new oil,tranny,clutch and brake fluid
new starter
clutch slave cylinder and throwout bearing
alt belt
Vis carbon fiber hood
5 panel wink mirror
putco mirror white headlight bulbs
oem mud guards
antenna delete plate
black dash swap
black door panels with purple suede inserts
black carpet swap
wire tuck
Genuine Spoon carbon fiber duckbill
Spoon replica mirrors
new fuel filter
ect sensor
d-side axle
16 inch rota slipstreams in white
Password jdm 3 point front strut bar (polished)
Spoon sports rear strut bar
gsr armrest
spoon duracon knob
mishimoto full size dual core rad
spoon thremostat
spoon fan switch
Skunk2 gold lower control arms
j's racing carbon fiber intake duct
wings west rs front lip
thule roof rack with yakima faring and bike rack
Gsr swap being rebuilt.

This list is growing day by day.

The pile of parts i've removed the first afternoon. Old alarm with two sirens, oem air box, stereo wires and misc brackets. Floor mats and shift knob.

After some cleaning up under the hood. Not actual cleaning but moving wires removing brackets etc..

New front bumper. Not sure if im going to paint it before its installed or wait and paint the whole car down the road.
Just picked these up tonight. Thanks Chris (aka Forcefed) off the board.

Little update over the past couple weeks

Picked up a brand new set of spun supameshes

My oem headlights and corners arrived. SPrayed the corners with amber stained glass paint then smoke tinted them to darken them a bit.

A better shot of the rims.

Picked up some real purple suede to recover my headliner and door cards with.

Lightwieght lugs.

Fastline performance shifter

New front fenders

And a c/f plug cover for whenever i get my gsr swap done. Had this forver.

I allways thought those were the best looking Civic's,a good place to start with a small amount of $$$

02-15-2009, 10:35 AM
Nice, that exactly what i'm looking for, what are your main goals/ideas for this car? I cant wait to get my EG6 project:D

02-15-2009, 11:01 AM
Are you going to keep it the same colour?

Going to paint the side moldings too?

02-15-2009, 11:28 AM
Thanks Guys!

My goals are just to have a really fun to drive car. Take it to the track on weekends, auto -x and i'd really like to dabble in a bit of road racing with it aswell.

I'm going for a real good suspension setup and motor wise i plan on dropping in a gsr with a jackson racing supercharger. I'd like to see 210 220 whp and i'd be happy. SHould be fun!

I do plan on staying white, i'll be getting jdm thin moldings here soon and i'm unsure about painting them or not. I'd really love to do a beige/tan sandy color but i couldnt do it with out a full color change inside and out and thats to much work/money for me right now.

02-15-2009, 12:35 PM
Man its like egs are the new hotness again, i think ive seen like 5 calgary eg builds pop up in the past two weeks, but seeing as i have one too ill spread the love lol good to see the dericing begin :D

02-15-2009, 07:40 PM
Nice Travis! this car is going to be sick! ill post some pic's of the new ride when I get it! Props bro!!!

02-23-2009, 02:51 AM
lol that my buddies old car

02-23-2009, 09:10 PM
Got my oem headlights and amber corners in the mail friday, along with my lightweight lug nuts. I had some spray tint left over at work so i tinted my ambers pretty dark. Looks alot like the vision corners. Ordered new front fenders from pro body parts today. I'll have pics of the new parts up soon. May have a shiny new skunk 2 piece come the weekend, still undecided.

02-24-2009, 07:33 PM
Update: So the skunk2 was sold when i went up today so I ended up ordering a new Apexi N1 full catback today. Should arrive in 3-4 weeks hopefully.

03-09-2009, 12:35 PM
Little update today. Still waiting on my N1 to come. Lots of new parts posted tho. Just waiting for some decent weather so i can get to work fuck.

03-09-2009, 09:49 PM
Good build so far, if you dont mind loud you'll love the n1 it sounded rediculous on my gsr wish i still had that car

03-09-2009, 09:55 PM
where did you get the fabric?
and if you dont mind, how much was it?
i dont really want purple suede, but just to give me a idea on my price to rewrap my interior.

03-09-2009, 10:31 PM
Sell me the CF spark plug cover haha

03-09-2009, 10:48 PM
Sparx : Thanks and Yeah i have a feeling i'll be rocking the silencer for daily driving.

The fabric I picked up at Tandy leather on mcloed trail. I work right next door at Raven trucks so i stopped in on day to check it out. They have a range of colors there. Mine was on sale for 3 bux a square ft but its regular 5. Cost me 100 for 28 square ft at that price.

Cf cover isn't for sale unfortunalty haha ;)

03-10-2009, 07:04 AM
sweet ride bro... your coming up pretty good with that hatchy... i like how you keeping it clean and i envy you. dont in sk we dont really have a track to put our toys to test.. auto-x can only be done in a pretty decent go kart track we got here but thats about it... keep up the good work and keep posting pics...

03-10-2009, 10:15 PM
Theres an eg cruise being organized for saturday i think you should come out

03-10-2009, 10:20 PM
I'd love to but the car isnt even driveable at the moment. Still waiting on a transmission for now. Otherwise i'd be there. Count me in for summer time tho for sure!

03-10-2009, 10:38 PM
Where you get the rims? Looks good

03-10-2009, 11:53 PM
I got them off kijiji. Brand new still in the boxes taped up for 500 bux. the inside receipt was 700. I'm pretty happy with them.

Thanks for the compliments.

03-11-2009, 12:05 AM
Wow, you got the rims from kijiji. I want :poosie:

03-12-2009, 08:15 PM
Whats your name man? This car definately should be inducted into the EG Hatch Squad in Calgary

03-14-2009, 01:28 PM
The names Travis. I'd be more then happy to be a part of the squad. Looks like a good group of guys.

Finally some cooperative weather to work on the car today. Removed all of the rear interior and now i'm off to buy some cleaning supplies since it looks like a dirt road back there. High note: Found 675 in change under the seat. Haha

04-15-2009, 10:07 AM
Wow it's been awhile. Update coming very soon.

09-21-2009, 08:46 PM
Well finally managed to get an update on this. Ive been busy off and on all summer trying to finish this thing up and i'm very close to it now. Since the last list of parts ive added the following

: Apexi n1 full cat back exhaust
new oem cat
gp racing lcas
brembo blank rotors
hp hawk pads
new ls tranny
urethane shifter bushings
new bulbs in every location threw out the car
panasonic deck
new air filter
new oil,tranny,clutch and brake fluid
new starter
clutch slave cylinder and throwout bearing
alt belt
wire tucked the engine bay and rear hatch area
fuse box and battery both move inside
new oem honda suspension bolts
theres probably more but i forget now, all that it needs now is a new windshield and a battery tray so that i can get it inspected. Any more comments and opinions would be appreciated.

09-22-2009, 05:09 PM
*whistles out loud* for not a show car still lookin bad ass ;)

09-22-2009, 05:12 PM
Did you tuck the wires yourself? I always wanted to give it a try.

09-22-2009, 07:32 PM
Thanks Sparx but in person she really has alot of flaws.. Dents dings, chips, rust haha i just want a little go kart basically. Looks come second.

Joe-g, yeah i did all the wire tucking myself, its not really very hard at all. Just time consuming. Mine isnt complete either i still have my fuse box just hanging under my glovey i need to do alot of extending to get it to a mounting location, maybe over winter..
I'd be glad to come give you a hand with it if you wanted.

09-25-2009, 10:51 PM
I just bought a hatch pretty much like yours lol. This is gonna inspire me to do as much work as you did. Good work btw, car looks amazing!

09-26-2009, 08:35 AM
Thanks Wes! Post up some pics of your hatch! Love to see your progress aswell.

09-26-2009, 09:35 AM
looks pretty good so far.

fix that positive camber though! :P

09-26-2009, 10:07 AM
Haha thanks, yeah hte ball joint isnt tight on that wheel i just had to take it out of the shop and happened to take pics. It will be getting the ride hieght set and an alignment done as soon as i can.

I will once everything mechanical is fixed, that comes first!
Today I installed a new water pump (old one was leaking coolant like a mofo), Timing belt, alternator belt, rad flush, brake fluid flush, and adjusted my EGAY coilovers so that the car wasnt low as fuck anymore. I still need to do transmission fluid, and CV joint boots. If you know anyone selling a decent pair of coilovers let me know as i am in need of them!

09-29-2009, 12:07 AM
Did you buy Nigel's old Civic? White EG, carbon hood and trunk. D15B?

Lookin good already. Keep up the good work. When do you think you are going to get the swap done?

Thanks guys. Had some free time at work today so i cleaned up the black door panels i found at the pick n pull last week and added a little personal touch. I think they came out well.

09-30-2009, 09:16 PM
what kind of adhesive did you use to hold the suede down

09-30-2009, 09:23 PM
Just some 3m spray adhesive i found at our shop. I need to take a syringe and squirt some super glue under a small part where it didnt take but other then that it worked good. Make sures its clean and smooth and you let the glue sit a bit begore you stick it down.

09-30-2009, 09:54 PM
Im jealous... but seeing as i threw two rods through my block you can probably count on seeing a build thread for my car pop up lol

09-30-2009, 11:26 PM
Thanks Sparx, and i'm sorry to hear about your car but excited to see your build thread :P

10-04-2009, 07:25 PM
where did u get the suede from? i want red :dunno:

10-04-2009, 07:28 PM
any b series honda boy want a turbo kit? or even a GSR hatch?

10-04-2009, 07:30 PM
how much (hijacker lol)

10-04-2009, 09:24 PM
I got it a tandy leather on mcleod trail. Its right by my work so i stopped in. Pretty sure they had quite a few diff colors there. I still need to get some more for my headliner and armrest...

10-04-2009, 10:57 PM
can you check if they have red? its going to take me like hour to go down there, and how much did that cost you?

10-04-2009, 11:14 PM
I'll try and stop in this week on my break for you. I forget how much square footage i had but it was 100 for enough to do my headliner plus some overlapping.

10-05-2009, 10:40 AM
alright thanks..

btw are you going to get rid of those ugly looking drums?

i got a rear disc brake conversion laying around if you want?

10-05-2009, 03:49 PM
Most definatly is going to happen. Just not sure how soon. I will keep you in mind tho. thanks.

10-05-2009, 05:18 PM
alright let me know, i just put it up in the marketplace and already got couple of pms :D

10-13-2009, 04:26 PM
Small update, Just ordered an antenna delete plate and 4 oem mudgaurds from honda. ALso ordered an 06 sti rear diffuser for a custom project.

10-13-2009, 05:03 PM
What's the custom project?? An man I want that antenna delete plate

10-13-2009, 05:22 PM

I would like to see that done. Ive seen a S2K diffuser on an EK, but theres nothing for eg's. Theres one guy who made a custom one out of metal, but its not that atheistically pleasing.

10-13-2009, 05:44 PM
Yeah nothing really fits the eg chasis unless you go custom. we'll see what i can do, i dont want to give my idea away and have 7 other egs running diffusers come spring haha. I already have the factory cx rear diffuser that blocks off the driver side rear bumper area, the sti diffuser will fill the middle and the apexi exhaust covers a bit of the pass side but i might fab somthing up just to smooth out the flow on that side aswell. Not looking for any huge type of gains from it but the less turbulence the better and at the very least ill get better mpg and it will look somewhat cool doing it.

10-13-2009, 06:28 PM
not a big fan of rear diffuse. But let's see wht you come up with

10-13-2009, 06:31 PM
Is it going to look like this?

Hopefully it will look better though.

10-13-2009, 06:47 PM
Thats actually the picture i have to go from but mine will obviously not be dragging on the ground like that. Ill trim the length if i have to in order to get it to fit properly. It should be mounted flat or as close to in order to function properly so laying it under the subframe like that is just like making a parachute.

10-13-2009, 09:04 PM
this one looks better

10-13-2009, 10:59 PM
I think plus one randy's diffuser is to... i dunno sharp and unfinished looking. I want to make mine look like its almost supposed to be there from the factory, thats why im going with a factory piece in oem plastic. It will def look better then those two examples. It will be flush and flat under there thats for sure.

10-13-2009, 11:02 PM
yeah the diffuser on the EG above just looks like it was fabbed up in 5 minutes and it looks cheap.

10-13-2009, 11:04 PM
Yeah a square of sheet metal bent over the edge of the bench...

10-13-2009, 11:19 PM

OP - where did you pick up your oem diffuser to seal up the inner fender bumper gap? and if you dont mind me asking how much?

10-13-2009, 11:59 PM
That bys rear spoiler is actually proven to provide downforce on the eg6 in track conditions. Function>form in this case.

The diffuser comes factory on most cx model hatches. Its available on alot of the aftermarket parts vendors, inlinefour, password jdm, jhp etc.. Runs about 80 bucks with install kit. Mine came with the car :)

10-14-2009, 12:23 AM
you lucky bugger i'm thinking of ordering an oem one that gaping hole has bugged me since day 1.

i dont doubt that spoiler provides downforce that's a wicked angle, i'm just curious about the drag-factor trade off associated with it

10-14-2009, 01:49 PM
Check with honda first you may find it locally available threw them instead of online ordering.

10-14-2009, 11:10 PM
Anyone know where i can find a decent condition black carpet? Cheap or better yet free :)

10-18-2009, 11:36 AM
Update: Picked up a nice vis racing carbon fiber hood from eglove last night. Wont be monuted until spring time though. Until then i have some abstract art on my wall haha..

stockinteriors as ridiculous shipping fees. Anyone down for a group buy? haha

10-18-2009, 03:36 PM
I'll rock some floor mats before i pay 200 for a carpet haha.

On a happier note i just bought this- http://www.amazon.com/Wink-5-Panel-Panoramic-Mirror/dp/B000UVTZIM/ref=pd_ys_qtk_k2a_1

Ships tuesday :)

10-18-2009, 08:23 PM
A friend of mine back in atlanta has that mirror, that shit is ridiculous lol

10-18-2009, 08:43 PM
I dont know if your being sarcastic or actually dont like the mirror? haha, It was only 35 bucks shipped and if itll help me keep some of these calgary drivers in check itll pay for itself. Tired of shoulder checking 8 times for every merge i make cause nobody can drive.

10-18-2009, 08:58 PM
i want a red carpet  and those mirrors are ugly!! i had something similar on my 300zx and its very hard too see when backing up n changing lane etc....

10-19-2009, 02:15 PM
it will never look as good or be as fast as mine...just kiding ...looks goo son keep up the good work

I guess it was partial sarcasm? im not sure myself lol. Its not that i dont like it, i just have no other way to describe it other than ridiculous hahaha im sure girls will love riding in your car though because they can focus on them selves from 5 diff angles :-p

10-19-2009, 06:49 PM
Hahaha Never really thought about that i guess. I kinda like the looks of it and i've heard lots of good things about it function wise. Figured i'd give it a shot. Plus it gives me a spot to put all my mfg stickers with out them being to much of an eye sore.

10-19-2009, 06:51 PM
Hmmm maybe we should move this thread to ask leo before i post anymore comments about the possibilities for function of that mirror :bigpimp:  lol jk

10-19-2009, 09:35 PM
Picked up some paint tonight. Flat tan for the winter wheels... If i drive it this winter.. Still unsure. And i grabbed another color to try out on the roof. Not sure if i'm set on it or not. We'll see but until its done im keeping it under wraps haha. Im sure nobody will like it tho. but thats ok. Its all about number one right?

10-19-2009, 09:37 PM
why paint winter wheels :dunno:

and if you the garage it has all the eg thread on top

10-19-2009, 09:39 PM
For somthing to do? Haha i get bored of things easily so i figured i'd spend 20 bucks and have something new.

Eg takeover! haha

10-19-2009, 09:42 PM
same here i still havent got my eg back from the paint guy and i have bought soo many things so i can install it once it gets back

yeah eg's all the way!!

10-19-2009, 10:47 PM
Been sitting around thinking of some ideas... Contemplating getting this image screened into a decal and cut to fit my roof. What do you guys think?

10-19-2009, 11:17 PM
Noooooo you don't!!!

10-19-2009, 11:23 PM
hahaha, i strive to be different. When you see my car roll by your gonna know its my car! Its just an idea.. somthing is happening to the roof for sure.. just not sure what yet.

10-20-2009, 12:48 AM
lol @ the propaganda photo..

Why not put Lenin on there?

10-20-2009, 12:49 AM
you took my spuns and my hood, you're assimilating my eg! haha

10-20-2009, 06:33 AM

The rising sun would be cool but it's just so typical or a Honda. I'll come up with something over the winter. Just waitin until the end of the month to hopfully order my 23mm asr sway bar and subframe brace. :)

10-24-2009, 12:45 AM
Had some time at work today so I installed my new oem mudguards and antenna delete plate. Also sprayed my valve cover... Not quite the shade of purple i wanted but its still better then the cracked chipped and dirty black that it use to be.

Did a few more things under the hood, moved my ground to the back of the block, hacked off the top of the washer fluid tank, re wired a new headlight plug. I also completely re did my door panels since the old adhesive failed and all the suede was falling off. Its much better and tighter now. Started removing the sound deadening on the floor pans, does anyone know where to get dry ice in calgary?

I sprayed a couple coats of paint on my old winter rims, they look much nicer now that they are flat army tan in color. Tucked my gas door and trunk release cables inside the rear fenders inside along with the hatch wiring harnesses. Sanded down my roof for paint. And thats about it...

Going out to get a few things this weekend. A couple stickers made up, some rear suspension bolts and maybe a couple of seats from the pick n pull that i had my eye on.

My wink mirror also came in today shipped from the us in under 5 days. But i wasnt home to recieve it so ill get it monday.

Cheers guys happy weekend! haha

10-24-2009, 10:29 AM
I need to shave my engine bay badly, how did u move the fusebox and everything did u take out ur dash?? I tried to do this on my old eg and I couldn't move a single wire lol

10-24-2009, 07:44 PM
I didnt have to remove the dash although it would make life alot easier. I put the fuse box in the glove box had to extend the main power wires.

Went to pick n pull today and grabbed a pretty mint black carpet and a black dash. Hopefully get them swapped in tommorrow. Finally get rid of all the nasty blue interior!!

10-24-2009, 07:49 PM
Let me know how hard it is to swap in the dash as I have a black dash sitting in my garage and i wouldnt mind puttin it in

10-24-2009, 08:26 PM
Judging by how it was coming out... It may be a chore. We'll see though and i'll let you know how it went. Just takes alot of prep work really. The steering column needs to drop down and all the wiring un clipped etc etc...
