Thats because the game isnt being broadcast in HD...for HD you will need to purchase channel 312. I know it sucks as the quality is horrible right now.

Nah, they just have the capability to transmit in HD...try watching those HD channels during the morning/afternoon, they have even less HD programming.

Anaheim and Nashville SUCKS for HD coverage. Whenever we play in their building, this is the crap SD quality we get.

Probably because they have such a small hockey market, doesn't make sense to invest in better equipment.

If the content provider which in this case is the hockey rink doesn't have the gear to transmit in HD the SD input gets up converted onto the HD channel. This of course looks terrible but is in no way your TV providers fault. Try witting angry letters to the hockey rinks :P Vancouver used to have the same problem a couple years ago.

Fuck, speaking of aweful Anaheim games. I've watched (for a few minutes) Anaheim games on Center Ice where the only cameras being used are the ones mounted on the top of the glass behind the nets.

They'd show it from one end untill the puck hit center ice and then switch to the other ends camera.

I thought that they do have HD cameras, but their local FSN feeds get the HD while the visitors get a shitty SD feed with the regular cameras.

Pretty sure that when there are home games in Edmonton and Calgary, we get HD and the visiting team is stuck with SD if they're an american team.

I might be wrong though...

I don't remember the last time I saw an away game that was in HD which was on Sportsnet and in the States.
