I noticed that Crowfoot Saturn Saab has a Closing out sign out front, sad to see it come to this when Saturn has a very decent lineup of cars,i also wonder if it may just be the bad economy forcing this, not just GM's uncertainty with the saturn brand.I beleve they are owned by the hyatt group wich owns other Saturn stores.

It appears that the end is near for the brand that was once to be GM's answer to the imports. Kind of sad that the brand was actually starting to offer some decent alternatives when you consider features for the money.

:werd:

Saturn has a very nice lineup.

As for SAAB, the 9-3 is a very sharp looking car.

Maybe they refunded too many $500 deposits on cars they lied about

They are changing it to Crowfoot Hyundai.

GM has guaranteed Saturn production through 2012 I believe, so Saturn isnt going anywhere yet. I think its just a Dealer Management decision. There is probably more money in Hyundai's then there are GM cars.

The 9-3 Aero is a really slick car though ;)

Read an article about this. Sad to hear about Saturn...the cars are really starting to progress and decent shizzle coming out.

Anyone hear about what chrysler is going to do?

I saw that ad too, it says "no reasonable offer refused". Sounds more like a marketing ploy to me.

Reminds of Don't Mess with the Zohan... electronic store called "Going Out of Business" (or something like that)

I think two Saturn dealers were enough in calgary anyway.Even if Saturn makes it they still will be a small brand.

Hmm I wonder if the Sky will become a future classic.

I love the front end of the Sky. It's a hot car. Compared to its cousin the Solstice, that thing is just a pos.

I liked the astra, but it was definitely overpriced for a domestic.

^The Astra is technically an import. I agree, a bit overpriced.

I was very set on buying Sky Redline myself, the only reason I didn't is because they have next to no trunk whatsoever. Its big enough for a brief case, and thats it. :thumbsdow

Definatley a shitty day. Like what was mentioned, the Saturn line up has some really nice cars just starting to hit the market. The aura, the Sky, the Astra.... fuck
:thumbsdow :thumbsdow :whipped:

They have product to 2012 ,they have cancelled all development of new future product,so i think as long as dealers will order stock GM will continue to build and send cars to them, the lineup will be limited to the Aura,Vue,and sky.

Just for dealers to implement Plan B which I guess Crawfoot is already going for.

sucks for saturn...their lineup is pretty good these days. Who is gonna buy a saturn since they are closing out the brand just like daewoo and oldsmobile. Even with a good price, what about parts and warranty? GM is in such a deep hole, even with Gov's loans, I think they will be bankrupt sooner or later. 40+ Billion in debt!

When I was looking at new cars I test drove an Astra. I really like the looks of the car but it was horrible to drive. The clutch take up was very narrow and the engine had NO low end torque. Every time I went to pull away from a stop it tried to stall. Not to mention some of the interior things were just dumb. You can get out of the car without manually unlocking the doors, not at the door but from a button in the middle of the dash. I quickly crossed it of the list. Decent looking car but poorly executed.
