^^you're likely right. Not much of an import scene down there.

No you guys are wrong. I am trying to increase the awareness of imports down here! We have quite a few imports at the track every race, some quite impressive!
At the swap meet one of my main vendors is Matt from Max Power Speed Shops here in town.

There is alot of interest here, it just needs a boost, no pun intended, from sites like this and drivers and builders like you to help.

Every year we send a team from the Hat down to the Division Finals and we now have two spots open for import cars, there is a separate class at the divisionals! If you attended 1/2 our races and were a member you could go with the team too!

So please lets have an open mind and support all forms of motorsports no matter import, domestic or otherwise!

If you have any questions feel free to e-mail me at [email protected]

Thanks,

Gary

That's good to hear. It's obvious a lot has changed from when I grew up there. In high school, I may have been the only one with a Japanese import. There were a few VW Rabbits, but aside from that, everyone had domestics.

Ya there are 2 or 3 right hand drive sylvias that race at our track on a regular basis as well as other very nice imports.

If the club can get enough interest we will even create an all import class!

Here is a link to our first import only race last year, a few hitches but all in all I think it was quite good!

Also you can probably get a good "finger on the pulse" feeling about imports in the Hat at this site.

thanks for posting this up Gary even though you spelt Silvia wrong. :drama:

like he said there are a few faster imports down here, most of them are just street cars though, and we know what most of them like to do...

Gary pretty much said it all, i wouldnt say it is dead, it grew alot the past year, back when i bought my R32 there was around 5 and now there is probably close to 11.

i would say it is more unorganized, and being most of us are young, alot of the racing gets done on the street. We had a race last year for the tuner cars strictly and had around 20 plus cars i think, we are trying to get a class started down here but need more cars and involvement!

the website is now, like i said it is unorganized but hopefully this summer we can get more involvemnt since there will be a few parking lot meets here and there.
