hey i just looked at a 1989 nissan 240sx hatch for my project. its running with the stock ka24de in it. the body is in fairly good condition. there is rust on the sideskirts near the rear and it has gone right through making a hole thats around 3" by 1" on both sides the one rear quarter has a little rust. the front end is really good. the guy said he got in a little crash, so i was a little worried about that. because of the crash he replaced the headlight the fender the hood and the rad support. but because of the crash the hood sits a little high up but thats easy enough to fix. the interior is clean but there is no stereo. he is asking 2000 obo do you think it would be worth my time or no.

if its an 1989 shouldn't it have the single cam version of the ka24? which would be ka24e not ka24de.

what are your plans for this car? daily driver? drift/track car? winter beater?

Why would you possibly want a car with a 3" hole in the rocker panel?
Drifting isn't cool anymore, so why do these beaters still demand a premium?

a hole in the rocker is easy enough to fix...
and maybe he doesn't want to drift. maybe he wants to have a fun car with cheap parts that you can toss around and have a great time in! you can do anything to a 240. conversions, swaps, anything! i would say dont pay over like 1500 for a hatch with a ka in it. and make sure there is no rust on the frame rails. i have owned a lot of cars already and i have had two 240's and these cars are the best! so much fun!

$2,000 sounds about right, offer him $1,500 cash or walk away.

don't mean to thread jack, but I have one for sale, and it hasn't been in an accident, original engine, 4 years newer, and has less rust.
