heard it was an 18 yr old girl flipped her car racing (thats what they said) but anyone have anymore info? It looks really bad, I saw the car it is trashed (white civic?) and there were tons of cops and road crew workers fixing the guard rail.

Was close to 16 th and Deerfoot.

As a result of a serious single vehicle collision on
northbound Deerfoot Trail under 16th Avenue N.E., northbound
traffic will be diverted up onto the 16 Avenue overpass and
then onto Deerfoot from the north side of 16th Avenue.
Deerfoot Trail underneath 16th Avenue will be closed for
several hours while Police investigate this collision.

A young woman, believed to be approximately 18 years of age
is in Hospital with serious life threatening injuries after
her car left the road ( northbound Deerfoot Trail ) up onto
the hill on the east side of Deerfoot at a high rate of speed
and struck the westbound 16th Avenue overpass. Her car then
flipped back down the embankment.

Speed is believed to be a major factor in this single vehicle
collision. The female was the lone occupant in her vehicle.

CPS Traffic Section is investigating this incident to also
determine if alcohol or any medical condition contributed in
this crash.

Women have a hard enough time staying between lanes going 10 under the limit. Why did she think she could "race"?

Hm... that's what that was...

I was trying to take Memorial onto Deerfoot North and there was a cop parked in the turn-off ramp with the flashers on blocking the exit.

This was at 4:45AM... wonder when the accident took place...

This happened today... Deerfoot North did not open until 7:45 AM, but nothing about racing was mentioned, they still have to determine if alcohol or medication was involved.

they really have to learn to stop writing "rate of speed"

It makes them sound like they smrt. (Though to be fair, if you are traveling at high speeds, you probably did travel at a high rate of speed to get there)

^ You just used it too!

Stop that. Honestly, if it was alcahol or what not, glad she was a long occupant, with no other people involved. Remove herself from society for being stupid.

High rate of speed means fast acceleration. So I used it appropriately.

So she accelerated up the hill? :burnout: Sounds like someone lives her life a quarter-mile at a time.

I hope she enjoyed those ten seconds (or less). :banghead:

lol you dont need fast or excessive acceleration to be travelling at a high rate of speed....it unfortunatly does go hand and hand sometimes though.

:werd: I'm sure many civic drivers can attest to this...

My buddy would do 0-140 in 2 minutes in his hatch all the time on Deerfoot and blow by people while in the left lane.

No, you missed what he meant. He was saying that would just be "High speed", not "High rate of speed".

The "officials" always say "rate of speed" to sound smarter, but it's not correct.

Was this girl in a Mazda and playing with a guy in his TSI earlier this week?
