Although the bases are according to the article no longer used but it still exposes the lie they've been stating for so long.

That has to do with engagement policy, not the location of the base. They could have attacked those people with or without a base there. The drones can fly 2000 miles, it doesn't matter if they're taking off in Pakistan they can still kill people there.

Since the US requested Pakastani access in 2001 and 2002 and started building shortly after that.

Russia allows the us access through itself for transport and supply of the bases.

They are not a secret.
