I just built a windows home server and have been consolidating my music, videos and pictures.
One thing I am finding is multiple copies of the same music.
When I was doing some searching on WHS, I came across a thread where guys were talking about a free program that cleans up your mp3 tags and find duplicates.
Anybody know what it is? I have been searching google for about 30 minutes and can't find the thread again.
Or what do you guys use?
not sure if this is what you're looking for, but it works well

Enables you to clean up masses of files quickly and it's fairly simple to use. I use version 2.36 but there might be a newer one.
I dont think any of those programs listed above look for duplicates, they are only tag editors.

Once all the tags are cleaned up, it'd be easy to spot duplicates. I doubt the two duplicate files would have the exact same name/tag anyway, so it's impossible for any program to realize that they're the same. If they did by chance have the exact same file name, windows wouldn't accept two identical file names in one consolidated folder.
I just use iTunes to organize my music. :dunno:
