Lease Return Question

I just returned a VW I have been leasing. Everything was fine but I just realized that my plates are still on the car. During the paper work I signed the car back to VW. Does this mean they keep the plates? I am not sure as this is my first lease return and the person who handled the return didn't mention anything about the plates. Anyone know?

Get your plate back. It's registered to your name. Depending on when the plate expires you might be able to get some $ back from the registration place or use it on another vehicle.
