Seriously if you go to the washroom wash your god damn fucking hands. I went out for a friends birthday today and somebody that worked at the restaurant walked right out of the bathroom without washing his hands. How fucking hard is it to put a little soap on your hands and rinse them off? Its fucking disgusting, you are touching your dick and then you go and serve people or make their food with your fucking germs all over you. I was so glad i just had a few drinks and didn't eat anything.

Lately though i have noticed a lot of people are too lazy too or don't bother to wash their hands! Dirty fucks :banghead:

depending where you are its actually more disgusting to wash your hands. Like the one time i went to back ally the fuck if i was going to touch ANYTHING in that bathroom.

But cleaner places it is pretty gross goo see people who dont wash your hands. i love when I'm just getting into the washroom, and someone who clearly didn't wash their hands is leaving i love to make it super awkward and be like ''oh is there no more paper towels?!'' Most the time they pretend like they forgot but sometimes they just get embarrassed and walk out

Solid chance he might have went into the kitchen and washed his hands as he would have/should have had to wash them upon entering from outside the kitchen. but who knows.

Im sure countless other people don't wash their hands. Washing is useless if he has to touch the door handle to get out. Thats not exactly clean. Probably washed in the kitchen.

Is there a reason (other then hitting someone in the face) that the washroom doors always seem to open inwards and not outwards. I would love if doors open outwards...wash your hands and don't have to touch teh damn handle

Just at a boston pizza. The guy was a server so i don't know if he went into the kitchen to wash his hands. Lots of people don't but it doesn't make it okay, even if you will get dirty hands from something else. Maybe we shouldn't shower since we're just going to get dirty anyway :dunno:

:werd: you shoulda complained to a manager, it probably could've gotten your meal comp'ed

and I agree with the door handle comment, thats why I always grab a piece of paper towel to open the door handles when I walk back out.

two places that I've noticed on average more people not wash their hands: clubs/bars and casinos

 I should start doing that. Thanks!

Before, I make fun of my friends who grabs a paper towel to grab the handle and just leaves it on the floor. That's just being a bit paranoid and a waste of a good paper towel.

But that's just me.

I always use a paper towel to open the door after washing my hands. Arm for turning off the faucet and, if needed, the handle on the paper towel dispenser.

I don't understand the need to use paper towel to open a door, sure it's public, some plays are nasty but a decent class restaurant shouldn't be that bad. If someone smeared shit all over the handle, then sure, use some paper towel to open it. Otherwise, our bodies are used to dealing with a jillion germs from us touching random shit all day. It's not like your average door handle is going to give you the hiv. Unless you're hoping you get the hiv, so if you're looking for the hiv, pm me and i'll hook you up.

maybe cause washing your hands you will get more germs on your hands then you will rid

yes opening door with paper towl is key, if there is no garbage near, i throw it on the floor, THE WORST ones are where its those re-circulating cloth towel things or blow dryers with door knobs! then you have to wait for someone to walk in and hold the door open with your foot lol

if ther eis no paper towel to open the door, its my sleeve. if im wearing a short sleeve, its the bottom of my shirt. i aint touching that shit, high class or not, that doesnt mean people still dont wash their hands.

i grew up poor, does that mean i dont wash my hands or should and be dirty like poor low class people?? thats retarded, ive been in plenty of high class restaurants where "high class" people dont wash their fucking hands, it doesnt matter what "class" youre in, wash your fucking hands.

People who turn paper towel into their little safety mit make me laugh. You honestly think you aren't getting just as many germs from any other door handle, c-train rail, paper bill, keyboard or lunch tray? There are way worse things people get on their hands during the day and they touch everything you use. Seriously, the odd poo particles from someone who doesn't wash their hands is really the least of your worries. I agree washing your hands after you use the bathroom is a good practice, if only just to get all the germs you've accumulated throuhout the day washed off, but being paranoid upon exiting a bathroom isn't going to save you from any deathly illness.

This is so disturbing.. My co-worker did this once and i confronted him about it. I told him it pisses me off so much when people dont wash their hands after the washroom. His excuse was he forgot and "not like im dirty. i showered this morning and its been in my pants all day.". so i lost it on him and said here fine i'll rub my balls on your desk. shouldnt matter cause i showered this morning too right? ... he looked at me and went back to wash his hands.

But yes I agree everyone should wash after the bathroom. Before even more so lol.

I'm a paper towel guy. For me it is more of mental sooth for me to use the paper towel. If I'm takin' a piss and some guy comes out of a stall after takin' a dump, and just walks out. Sure as fuck I'm using a paper towel to open that door.

Melinda is correct. Well written. Although it's a psychological relaxant for me to not worry about knowing that the last piece of ass Mr Poo Walkout got was when his finger broke through the paper on his last dump, and then continued to celebrate by sharing said ass with others including myself.

I even went as far as moving the waste bin in the mens washroom at the new office to the door. The maintenance people finally caught on when I kept moving it back to the door everytime they put it back on the other side of the washroom.

The washrooms at Cactus Club Barlow are the best. One button ass gasket, step on a button on the floor to flush, auto taps, dispensers etc.

Several months ago at work I went to the washroom for a #2. While sitting on my throne, someone in a stall across from me was just layin' it down. I mean - this guy was exploding from his ass like you wouldn't believe. It HAD to be messy.

He proceeded to clean up afterwards with what seemed like endless grabs of toilet paper, then walked right out the bathroom door.

Now, I don't work in a restaurant so it's no big thing to me. But Jesus guy - you're just asking to get sick. And you're freakin gross.

it would make me sick to see a restaurant employee no6t washing their hands after pissing, but keep in mind that the sink faucet has 409853409584390859843 times more bacteria than anyone's dick (same with the door handle), so it doesn't matter if they wash them in the bathroom since they will have to re-wash them once they arrive back in the kitchen.

also, remember that your cock is the cleanest place on your body. your hands are have way more bacteria on them than your cock does.

your ass is another story, though. that's how people get E. coli poisoning.

lol how wrong u are.

several anaerobic gut organisms, enterococci, etc, are all over toilet seats. They are NOT normally outside of the body, and if they somewhere they're not supposed to be, surprise surprise u get an infection.

generally u need atleast 2 layers of 2ply tissue at a minimum to prevent spread of organisms between where u wipe and ur hands.

also washing hands will significantly reduce the amount of loose organisms that may have got on ur hand.

yes keyboards and door handles and ctrain surfaces may be dirtier, and have more organisms, but those are all generally aerobic and "normal" on the outside of your body, wont cause much harm as long as you're not exposed to a huge bolus of them.

food workers who dont wash their hands run a huge chance of spreading organisms to places they dont belong, as well as other things like worms and parasites.

yay for microbio class.

nonlinear
02-22-2009, 03:13 PM
^^you are wrong, sir. toilet seats are actually one of the cleanest places in a public washroom, 1) because people cover them like you say and 2) they get cleaned frequently. door and faucet handles are the dirtiest places in the washroom and, yes, they do include gut flora

soupey
02-22-2009, 03:16 PM
haha well i guess it depends how often its been cleaned/peed on.

I do the paper towel thing on the door as well after washing my hands in the washroom, but as said, its all for naught as there are so many other places we unknowingly pick up germs.

I remember watching a show, I think it was some cbc investigative type, and they were showing how the majority of shopping carts in Canadian grocery stores had not only germs, but fecal matter on them. Think about it, some lady puts her baby up in the seat part in a diaper, the next guy is putting his fucking bread and stuff up there.

If you are germ paranoid, via google these are the worst places to touch.

Playgrounds
Bus rails/armrests
Public bathrooms
Shopping cart handles
Escalator handrails
Chair armrests
Vending machine buttons
Shared pens (i.e Pens in banks/Dr's Offices etc)
Public telephones
Elevator buttons

For all the paranoid germaphobes, think of this.

Do you wash your hands before you touch your dick?

You should...

Wash before and after you go to the washroom.

If you only wash your hands after you pee, think about how many times you pee a day, and how many germs you are adding to your penis every time you touch it.

This is even worse for the ladies, becuase of the possibility of getting outside germs internally.

TACO.VIDAL
02-22-2009, 04:02 PM
Germs on your hands wont make you sick. Its touching your face (eyes, nose, mouth and ears) that will get you into trouble. Its also about transferring those germs to others items that then may come in contact with your face.

If your at work and go to the bathroom, and then touch the door on your way out you could pick up fecal matter. Then you come back to your desk and use your mouse keyboard and phone. Then you have lunch at your desk, surf the internet while eating, and your spreading fecal matter all over the place.

On that note, office work stations are supposedly one of the dirtiest place around for that exact reason. A keyboard will have a lot more nastier stuff than the average toilet seat.

You also have to remember that theres a lot more nastier stuff around today than there was 50 years ago. Bacteria, viruses, diseases have all gotten a lot worse. So to say that your parents or grand parents never worried about this stuff and never got sick isnt a fair comparisson.

yes, but urine is sterile (i.e. no bacteria). it contains urea, which can make you ill if you ingest a lot of it, but it doesn't cause infections.

but as i said, you ass is a whole different story.

I was at a bar once in the bathroom when I stopped at the door to look down and make sure my fly was up when some moron pushes open the door and it smashed me in the top of the head, nearly knocking me out. I stumbled out of the bathroom feeling my head to see if I was bleeding and the bouncers told me to go home thinking I was hammered. I got banned for the night.

I have never in my life witnessed someone wash their hands properly in the bathroom. You should wash with lots of soap all the way up your wrists for at least a minute. After seeing people get up out of a bathroom stall at work and walk out the door without washing made me give up handshakes for good. Whenever someone wants to shake my hand now I just tell them I don't shake hands. If they ask why then I'd explain it but nobody ever has.

soap (especially antibacterial) is overused

it's one thing to wash off dirt, etc., but another thing to kill off all of the bacteria that you encounter in everyday life. this not only prevents people from developing strong immune systems, but also leads to the 'superbugs' that are behind many of the widespread 'epidemics'

The major cause of 'superbugs' is from misdiagnosis from physicians who automatically prescribe penicillin. Moreover, the food we ingest isn't helping either.

I read a cool article about these in bio 231 called "March of the Superbugs." If you can't access journals online, PM me.

if its dirty and i just take a piss and i can get in and out of the washroom with just touching my own dick that i know is clean i don't wash, your hands will be way more dirtier touching the soap dispenser the sink and then the soaking wet paper towel dispenser which is probably the worst. If you take a dump in a public washroom i hope you wash your hands

grab paper towel, use it to dispense soap and turn on and off tap, dry hands with renaming paper towel and use it again to open the door

or just carry antibacterial hand cleaner and apply once you leave the bathroom.

Sick.

Reminds of when I was at University a couple years ago. I was in the bathroom washing my hands after taking a pee, and an old asian guy leaves a stall after obviously having dropped a huge duece, and walks straight back to the Asian food place there (Kobe? SW corner of foodcourt). He started preparing food without washing his hands.

To prepempt the question, yes I did follow him, but only because I was on my way to buy some lunch from where he worked.

Needless to say I didn't buy lunch from there anymore. I sent in a TLF about it.:barf:

Do any of you wash you're hands BEFORE you take a piss? Because you probably have tons of nasty germs on you're hands from touching anything and everything. Germs are everywhere, Bacteria is everywhere...You cant really prevent touching shit...

Hahahaha from reading this shit I get an image in my head of taking a piss in a washroom, washing my hands and turning towards the door to walk out, Then see some dude freaking out trying to open a door in an awkward way because he has no paper towel or long sleeve shirt to cover his hand with:rofl:

Decided to bump this thread instead of derailing another..

I'll start by saying I always wash my hands after I use the bathroom. But sometimes when I'm in a public bathroom I feel as if my hands are dirtier than before I went in to take a piss. Usually there is no hot water, whats even the point of washing your hands with cold water? you can't even get the soap to lather up. not to mention you have to touch the taps, the soap dispenser the paper towel, the door.

When I',m doing work and my hands are all greasy I like to wash my hands before I take a piss. Do I need to wash them again after? I do, becuase I grew up in a time where it was the social norm. But is it neccessary?

Who all washes their hands before they cook? or before they eat?
How many of you wash your hands after going to the gym? I do, cause I find it gross. How many of you are rocking your iphone while crapping? good thing you just washed your hands, it's too bad your phone is covered in crap. Or your toothbrush? is it left in the open? do you close the toilet seat lip before you flush? cause if you didn't little poo particles just got all over it..

People who don't wash their hands after they take a piss or crap definitely have worse personal hygiene. But it's just that personal, it doesn't really affect the people around them if they are washing their own hands regulary. The people in this thread worrying about touching someone else's penis are crazy if they think that other peoples hands are any cleaner.

I worked in a kitchen during my first year of school, and if you left the kitchen for any reason, you had to wash your hands before returning to the line. I still washed my hands in the crapper, because people will definitely not be happy if I didn't but, I had to wash them much more thoroughly once I got back in the kitchen.

Just my thoughts.

I do wash my hands after I take a piss or crap, but one thing I have wondered for quite a while now is if it is absolutely necessary after just a standard piss (discounting splash from a urinal). In theory, my dick is probably cleaner than 90% of the surfaces I touch on a daily basis, so should I not be washing my hands before AND after if I want to be as clean as possible?

Seriously, the odd poo particles from someone who doesn't wash their hands is really the least of your worries. I agree washing your hands after you use the bathroom is a good practice, if only just to get all the germs you've accumulated throuhout the day washed off, but being paranoid upon exiting a bathroom isn't going to save you from any deathly illness.

i never wash my hands after urinating. what is the point? first - urine is STERILE. second - your hand is actually dirtier than your penis.

if you're that worried about contaminating your own skin with germs from your own skin, what you should do is wash your penis to get your hand-germs off. then you'll have to wash your hands because you touched the soap dispenser and sink tap, both of which are dirtier than your hand. after that you need to use a paper towel and turn off the tap and open the door.

bunch of pansies around here.

I'll admit I'm one of those pansies. I wash my hands when get to work after riding the bus. Wash my hands before and after using the washroom. Immediately when I get home I wash my hands. I Lysol my defender case about once a week and I always have hand sanitizer on me haha.

Call me crazy but I just find other people very dirty for a lot of the reasons mentioned in this thread. This whole OCD cleanliness thing started about a year ago and I've actually noticed I don't get sick nearly as often and I'm taking public transit much more frequently than before.

do you wash your penis after peeing then? think about all of the hand-cooties you're getting all over your clean dick.

I definitely use paper towel to turn off the faucet or open the bathroom doors. I'm not concerned about getting some "deadly illness" but viruses that are transmitted by feces that contaminated food or water, or by person-to-person contact or surface contamination are what I'm trying to avoid. Ever heard of norwalk/norovirus. Thanks, but not thanks.

The last 2 weeks at work (in an emergency department), while at triage, I'd say 20% of people triaged have the typical nausea/vomiting/diarrhea/diffuse abdominal pain. Yup, a good ole gastroenteritis. That stuff spreads like wild fire. Hand hygiene is the most effective way to prevent this, because like it or not, our hands make contact with our faces waaaay toooo much (insert random stat)!

Hands touch things such as your face, food, etc. Last time I checked your dick didn't touch your face or your food... unless you're a real dickface ;)

Having been to the rural areas of Vietnam, I can easily say that the taps, door knobs, and door handles here generally do not scare me enough that I would even consider putting a paper towel on it. There is the odd Chinese restaurant where I might consider it, but overall it is silly.

There's a bathroom on the main floor of Gulf Canada where the door handles are covered in plastic (on the inside door handle - similar to when you see on the toilet seats that rotate that plastic barrier) that gets changed.

When I'm in the shitter at work guys piss and go all the time cause they know you can't see them. But when you're washing or hands or taking piss and can see them, they'll wash their hands. And agreed that there are way more disgusting things out there, but the bathroom one get's called out the most cause you can see it.

I do this too, even though I realize there are other dirty doorknobs etc...

I've seen far too many guys go from stall to out the door to not be grossed out by bathroom doorknobs.

I pee hands free lol. I don't want to touch myself or the dirty faucets so I simply get the job done without touching anything including myself haha. I'll wash if its an automatic sink, but I cant stand touching faucets lol.

good post. plus who wants to walk around with some other guys sh!t on their hands. people are pigs. I'm sure a lot of persons can poop and clean up without getting poop on their hands. then theres some who don't wipe so good and get on hands then don't wash and touch doors knobs. sure everything else can have poop on it though the further away you get from the bathroom the less there should be.

My penis is probably the cleanest part of my body. My hands benefit from touching it. No need to wash them.

I wash my hands, every time, but the skin on your dick is probably cleaner than the taps & door handle you touch to exit the washrooms in most cases. It's not like there's pee on your hands. My favorite are actually airport washrooms, where there is usually no door (just a couple walls) and automatic everything. That is the cleanest setup.

Anyone worried about fecal bacteria, well, it's everywhere, probably even on your toothbrush. We have immune systems for a reason. I think there was an episode of Mythbusters on this too, they found it everywhere. I think most of it spreads from flushing the toilet.

Washing your hands is super important for other reasons too though, like not catching or spreading the common cold, among other things.

There is always the option to pee with pants on ground, and hands on your hips haha. Very clean.

I've been in a stall before and the guy in the stall next to me flushed, got out and walked straight out the door. Unless he was using some sort of silent tap.

This thread still makes me laugh. You guys have never sat on a toilet (in public or at home) surfing your iphone or killing off some angry birds? Do you sanitize your phone afterwards? Cause if not, I hate to break it to you, but you have shit on your phone. And if you flush the toilet without putting down the lid (which most public toilets dont even have), then you probably have shit on your pants and the back of your shirt. Then you go sit on your couch or the seat of your car and guess what? They have shit on them too. Then your kid comes up and sits on the couch, gets the shit on their clothes, then you hug them and voila, the shit is back on your hands.

How many of you have a family of 4 people using a bathroom? Do you clean it every day? Most public washrooms are actually cleaner than most private washrooms. And poo particles are commonly found in a 6 foot radius around a toilet.

I have an aunt who freaks out about this kind of stuff (cleanliness in general) and her and my cousin's immune systems are some of the worst I've ever seen.

Sure I could take a piss without holding my dick, but thankfully I am not fully erect at all times to accomplish that, and I prefer not to piss on myself? To each their own I guess. I think someone who isn't holding their own dick probably has nothing to hold on to...just saying.

While there may be "Shit everywhere", it's not like I'm licking the couch, or the back of my shirt, or the toilet seat. And I'm personally not worried about the feces itself, more like the potential viruses/bacteria that MAY be in it. It's all a matter of probability, and if a virus could live on a surface for >12 hrs, for example, with the fecal oral route being the most common form of transmission (ie, a bathroom), wouldn't hand washing decrease the probability of ingesting said virus? Why the arguments against slight over protection in a bathroom?

Hand sanitizing the toilet seat though.... that may be a bit over kill ;) Again, it's the post bathroom use that should merit hand washing. Before is not as big a deal, our skin is an integral part of our immune system, and I'd be concerned only if there was a break in the skin (in which case I would was my hands before coming into contact with broken skin).
