Okay I realize this is an old movie (2001), but I just saw it tonight, and I can't get over how good it was. Unreal movie, I am just rocked. What an amazing movie.. like words do not say how good it was.. honestly was the most empowering movie I have seen in a long time. Ridley Scott captures the Mogadishu conflict unbelievably well. Anyone else love it as much as me?

Funny you mention it... it was on TV down here tonight and I really wanted to watch it. Great movie, and the game that came along after it was actually pretty damn good.

Yeah great flick. Pulling the bullet outta the guy's leg is a really intense scene. Definitely worth buying on blu-ray!

Read the book, it's way better and more involved than the movie. First book to ever put me in tears... some of the soldiers meet a really sad end.

Cool movie lots of action.

The movie degrades Somali people.

Somali's don't even speak Arabic, forget writing it. The movie looks more like its based in Sudan, not Somalia.

Now I know how Asians feel when other people try to speak their language in movies.

I rented the blu-ray over reading week, but I dunno, didn't really enjoy the movie at all :dunno:
Maybe I just had high expectations before seeing it, thinking it might be closer to something like Saving Private Ryan, but it fell very very short

I waited in line to watch this movie on opening day, it was one of my top 3 favorite movies for ever. But its hard to compete with modern movies, especially in regards to the non-combat scenes.
