Coupe looks way better imo but the 4dr is a wiser choice for being practical

Cars are not long term investments, so get that idea out of your head.

As far as which will depreciate less, I'd wager the coupe will hold its value better than a sedan. Biggest reason being that there are way more sedans out there than coupes, and young people will tend to pay more for a coupe.

Vehicles are part of the expense picture, not assets :D

Coupe if you don't have to drive anyone. Sedan if you do.

If you can, spend more and get the Si because the rest are a waste.

WRONG!

If you are going from dx, dxg, lx to Si that is probably the biggest waste of money. For much more you're still getting a civic and not even excitingly fast. If you were to spend that kinda money, I would rather get a GTI no second thoughts.

GTI costs a lot more though :D

But I do agree, I sold my Civic Si and got another WRX to tie me over until the MK6 GTI comes over.

I like my 08 Si Sedan, can haul around friends, lots of room for shit, easier to get in and out of, more headroom.

I like the way it handles for a 4 door.

I dont like the coupes though, so im biased.

$1400 isnt that much more when comparing base coupes. 1k more 4dr to 4dr. It only gets a lot more expensive when you add features not available to the Si. :D

if you're considering an Si, maybe look into a csx. I'm not sure if they still have any instock but a friend of mine just bought a brand new CSX type S (2008) for $27000.

Yeah I heard about this deal. I was very tempted.
I would definitely go with CSX type s

Is that a cash only deal? That's a pretty big discount either way.

I used to have the coupe, and I liked the look of the coupes better however I'm currently biased as there are only a few sedans I would want to own right now.

AFAIK it wasn't a cash deal. They were just clearing out the 08's. Between the csx type s and the civic Si, I'd definitely take the csx if they are within the same price range. The leather interior of the csx is actually quite nice. I also prefer how the front and the tail lights looks on the csx compared to a civic.

If you want the coupe, I'd go with a Civic SI...
If you want the Sedan, I'd skip the civic and go for an Acura CSX. Which will probably hold its value better if only for the Acura badge. Though you'll pay a bit more for it up front.
The CSX looks way better than the Civic, an opinion shared by many many people.

yea i def like the csx look better, but even after discounts you're still looking at 5,000 extra over the civic, and you're paying for essentially a pimped out civic..

Yup, if there was this huge discount when I was buying it definitely would of been the CSX. But when there weren't any huge discounts so I couldn't justify paying the extra for the type s.

Easier to sell the Sedan, but coupe might have better value.

yea, i like the looks of the sedan better, like the sedan seems like a longer car, where i think the previous gen had the coupe longer?
