I was just browsing through canada trader and found this, can any one tell me more about this 240? I didnt even know they made a 240 like this, or is it have an engine swap or something?

it's a 1989 180sx. it had a redtop sr20det engine swapped in it before it left japan.

so thats a 180 turbo engin inside a 240? what kind of power do those have?

Originally the '89 180sx had a CA18DET thus the name 180sx.
As for the power in the CA18DET and SR20DET, search on google and you should find all the answers you need :)

actually the advertisement says it has an sr20 in it.
so they swapped out the CA18 and put in an SR; dunno why they wanna do that.. :rolleyes:
CA18's are so :bigpimp:
but definitely check the net for info on the CA18's .... info is SO hard to come by.

ca18et has around 135hp and 130 tq. The sr20det redtop has 205hp and 201 tq.

To summarize:
CA18DET - 173HP @ 6400 RPM
SR20DET (Redtop) - 202HP @ 6000 RPM

i wish i had the money to buy that car... so tough to find a good condition 240 like that plus having money to dish out for an SR20 too.... lol ... being a student sucks :banghead:

hey cam, if you want some info on how to mod a CA18 i can pm it to you. I collected whatever I could over the last two years on the CA18.
