Hey I am trying to hook up a laptop to my router (D-link 802.11g/2.4GHZ) but I am not sure what my password is?

Is there anyway to change it back to the original password so I can hook it up....

Thanks

Linksys and D-link will reset if you hold the reset button.

My Netgear has the username/password printed on the bottom.

lots of d-links are blank for user name and password by default. To reset press and hold the reset button. While holding the button unplug and replug power.

well if you're cable connected you don't need a PW to go online, with wireless you will

since you forgot, try the default password to login and change the wireless password, or else reset the router and start over

I believe to reset it, you hold down the reset button on it for like, 30 seconds. That will reset it to factory settings.

^werd. Reset it. 192.168.1.1 to access it, type in your default password as posted above, go into wireless security and set your own.

if you're wireless and don't know the password for wireless you're not going to get an ip address from the router, if you do an ipconfig in cmd, it would show 169.x.x.x which is an error ip address

you need to connect a network cable to the router and to your computer, then go into CMD and do an ipconfig to see what the router is assigning you for an ip address

it could be 192.168.0.x || 192.168.1.x || 192.168.2.x which ever one applies you to, then you would enter the ip into your browser 192.168.x.1

There might be a small button on the router itself. It's a hardware switch that will reset all the firmware to factory settings. Once you've done that you can google for your manufacturer and model to find your default password. (it might also be written on the router itself)

It's designed for situations like this :P
