maybe not scary if you are addicted to crack, meth, etc

the we use to be their plumbers and even in the middle of the day that place is fucked

i saw a guy sit down on the curb, then i went into the pub and figured out what tools i needed and go back to the truck and the same guy is lighting something up, then when we go to leave he is wandering around the parking lot yelling shit and he had pissed himself. oh and not to mention every time i left the pub to go to the van there was a group of what i would have to assume was dealers and addicts standing blocking the door

was pretty funny though, would see a gang of bike cops cruise by and everyone would disappear, then five minutes later would all come back

just kept happening over and over again

if they were just on the booze it would not be so bad, but people like that do not give a shit and are unpredictable in their action, that is what is scary

and the scariest place in calgary is in no way comparable to other larger cities... thats why it is the scariest place IN CALGARY not canada or North America

I just passed thru the most terrifying place in Calgary and made it out without as much as a scratch: the T&T parking lot in Harvesy Hills.

I even saw a parking lot accident while in the Timmy's drive thru lineup. Asian drivers are scary, but on mass in their Honda Odyessy's and Camry's...

i've driven into downtown a bunch of times since the cecil was closed and i can't remember seeing any of the dealers or crackheads on fourth ave. their main hangout at the entrance to the pub has been boarded shut. i've seen some homeless walking in the area, but that's to be expected with the shelter there and all.

This was definitely pre-closure. You would definitely see some interesting characters in front of the pub. Or, if you went left after the bridge, some even more interesting types hanging out under the overpass...

That is such a bad spot for a drop-in centre, especially if tourists are coming into downtown from that side.

It's not like entering downtown near Talisman is great too; you pass cemeteries.

It does make sense, the HID's are in a housing which has cutoff as well - but are aimed to for example - another cars rear bumper line when up close. So, the cutoff eventually makes it to the ground due to aiming. I'll be honest, it was dangerous to take a picture while driving - no justification. I was doing 60, and driving on a straight road. But I understand where you're coming from.

It was scary, I don't know if you've driven back there but @ since the construction - there is no light posts or anything. Basically, you're looking into darkness. Light output has limits, I'm sure.

For real. There's no abandoned houses or anything.

Just go to downtown vancouver at night. or go watch for trains/buses late at night in Detroit.

Like Jordan said, I walked through East Village downtown at sunset. You could feel the creepos emerge from their slumber.

I believe it.
People say the NE is ghetto. I drove through a real ghetto to see what it was like... Friday night, rental car... It's eye opening.
It was East Palo Alto, CA.

In 1992, the city had the highest per-capita murder rate in the country with 24,322 people, and 42 murders. Obviously, when I drove through it had been cleaned up a lot.

I wasn't too scared. Most of the people out loitering were just trying to flag us down to either sell us drugs or jack our car.
