The 1st TranceSylvania 2CD set locked me in, and that was about 15 years ago! It's come a long way...I'm old :(

Edit: Actually I'm wrong. The most vivid trance track memory is Ian Van Dahl.

Good question. I liked Sandstorm when it first came out, but I didn't really consider it part of the trance genre. I've always just liked trance as a whole, I guess that's from doing a lot of gaming throughout my life (synthesized beats and all...)

I lived a good part of my life in Europe and Asia where its mainstream so it's a given.

And yea Sandstorm was one of the first ones I remember. Its still one of my favs.

That track still reminds me of a mad crush I had on a girl when i was 15. Azores Islands.

Just curious, would it be a safe assumption then that most of the people at the DJ shows wandering around with water bottles are on E?

^ from the amount i've been to 95% yes lol

really hard for me not to write alot about it, electronic music made huge impact on my life through HS (weird enough to say) i listened to it everywhere and anytime i had the chance to, every song reminds me of a certain time/situation/phase as i try to remember, also went to HS with alot of eastern european kids, i'll give them alot of credit for getting me into it, many songs and sets from 99-01, beating myself cause i never took care of my burnt CDs, call me old ass but most notably stuff like:

Judge Jules Clubbers guide to..2000, annual, memorable sets like Lush 2000, Qontact 2001, Gatecrasher, creamfields, his song Church of Ra.

songs/artists like:
the earliest i can remember was DJ Jean - the launch
then stuff like:
Angelic - cant keep me silent
warrior-warrior
Gouryella
Dj Taucher
Kai Tracid
DJ Spin
Blank and Jones
Brainbug - nightmare
olive - you're not alone (ATB mix)
RBA - No alternative (brooklyn bounce mix or original) - ( i miss beats like these, the ones that make your neck hair stand up the first time you hear the 'chorus beat')
It's a Fine Day - miss jane (ATB mix)
ian van dahl - castles in the sky
Robert Miles - children (whatever trance mix)
Brooklyn Bounce - Bass Beat and Melody
alot of MoS
ALOT of Tunnel Trance force volumes/essential mixes passed through my ears
gaaah too many and too long ago to remember.

lots of Oakenfold until he came to tantra and played for fken half an hour and left, was sooo pissed. then the run of the mill sets with tiesto, van buuren, corsten (system F as well), PVD, huge Johan Gielen fan for a good bit etc(99-2004 stuff). i've also NEVER been to a rave or done E but i'm almost certain every single DJ that has had a venue in Calgary since 2002 i've seen him/her at least once, i just enjoy the music and thats it :dunno: .

heard andain - beautiful things in 2003, then Motorcycle - as the rush comes in 2004ish, started listening to alot of house, heavy on the Gabriel and Dresden/Deep Dish progressive/vocal house genre and religiously checking Radio1 for new sets/singles via pete tongs essential mix.

now i'm pretty much listening to house, wont brush away a good vocal/prog trance song tho.

edit:once in a while hit tracks like delerium - silence, oakenfold southern sun, tiesto lethal industry and these pretty much kept me into trance music, sooo old tho lol

I'd say my older sister got me hooked on a Ministry of Sound Disc back in '93. I remember having that on the old shockwave cd player while everyone was listening to Dance Mix 93!

After than it was:
Bad Boy Bill
Brooklyn Bounce
ATB

those were probably the main pulls for me.
