I had a 06 330i and I loved it. My 08 535i is bigger and faster, but the 3 drives a lot tighter.

Enjoy the new drive, she's beautiful!

Looks to be either a 2007 or 2008.

328 came out in 07 and 09s have different front and rear treatment.

edit: sticker shows 2007

Nice ride man, smaller engines FTW (better gas economy) yet a nice interior. In England, you try and find a big engine. You think you saw a 550i from the exterior, huge wheels, all the aero kits, fully loaded interior, gotta be a 550i right? Wrong, the badge says 518i.

Over here it seems the bigger engine are "better model" cars, not the case, they're slowing changing to the way England works

Thanks everyone.. It's a 07.. And yah I test drove quite a few including a 335i & older M3.. I really did want a 07 M3 but for the money it just wasn't worth the extra costs.. This is plenty a car for a daily driver..

I still have my SRT which I'm basically going to turn into a drag car.. Big turbo, cage, built engine, etc.. Should be a fun car for the track.

Thanks dude..

My boss has a 05 545i and even though it's a nice car mine seems to be a lot more responsive and nimble than the 5 series.. The 5 is an amazing machine don't get me wrong but you're right I think the 3 is definitely a "tighter car"

Any chance you will make like your username on this car? Maybe try to make your car like the 7 series they seized in Van? Maybe some Bullet proof glass and armour? Maybe some gun compartments? Or maybe just wheels and performance?

Regardless, Nice purchase! I just picked up a new vehicle myself!

Have fun with it.

Sorry I was just going through the posts...

It's the 6 speed auto.. And the gas mileage on this car is amazing.. I got 450 miles on my first tank and I believe it's a 15 Gallon or so tank.. So very efficient and smooth.. I haven't owned an auto in probably 10 years but it doesn't feel like any auto I've ever driven before.. The Manual mode & Sport mode is very cool.

And thanks a lot.

I've already been asked by someone else where you would put a gunrack on a BMW. hahaha

I was looking at an EVO but for the cost, I think I can get a lot more out of this car and keep the SRT-4 as a "toy" car.

What did you pick up?

Wow apparently I am still asleep. I guess the reason I thought you purchased a Lancer/Evo would be due to your sig! Durrrr Don't you think it is time to make a new sig? haha

I picked up a 2009 Nissan Frontier Crew cab Short Box Pro 4x. Pretty cool little truck. All Rockford Fosgate Audio from the factory, Bluetooth and a bunch of other things I think are cool but are probably meaningless to others.

I will take some decent pictures once the weather clears up here. It can't decide whether to snow and freeze or Chinook and melt. It has made for an expensive vehicle cleaning bill so far. Then again I'm anal retentive. Especially with new things!

Please.

The 518i will never come with the same number of options as the 550i or the M5. Bigger is a higher/better model for every car company. Without the extra options, they would never sell a 550i, especially with the 535i having so much potential. It is simple marketing.

Never realized how cheap these can be had in the US. Low mileage ones are listed at $22k.

Are cars cheap in South Carolina since the unemployment rate is second highest in the nation?

IMO BMW's and other performance orientated cars in this class that are purchased with the base or smaller engine are simply bought as a status symbol... to say and announce that they are driving a BMW!
Now thats the ultimate douchebag status!

While most buy them as status symbols I know a couple of guys that have 325s that they prefer over their 550s and 6 series. E90 3 series no matter what engine is in it is a great car to drive.

If you actually read any of my previous threads you will see I couldn't give a rats ass what people think of me.. I bought this car because it was a great deal and it's an amazing car to drive!!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this engine.. it has amazing power and excellent fuel economy for a 6 cylinder engine.

I don't know where you're getting them for 22,000 but good luck on that.. Sure as hell aren't loaded with CPO & full maintenance.

And don't worry your pretty head about unemployment in SC.. I'm working and you're about to see a major adjustment in unemployment in Alberta based on what I'm hearing from friends that are watching the meltdown first hand.

Just did a search on autotrader.com. I found twenty 2007 328i sedans for $21,495-22,999. Average mileage is about 20k-30k miles.

Here are the search results: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/searchresults.jsp?num_records=25&search_lang=en&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&search_type=used&distance=0&address=90210&marketZipError=false&style_flag=1&make=BMW&model=328I&make2=&start_year=2007&end_year=2007&min_price=&max_price=&seller_type=b&transmission=&engine=&drive=&doors=&fuel=&max_mileage=&color=&keywordsrep=&keywordsfyc=&keywords_display=&sort_type=priceASC&body_code=0&certified=&advanced=y&highlightFirstMakeModel=&showZipError=n&default_sort=priceASC&awsp=false&keywordsrep=&keywordsfyc=&systime=&scarid=256416022&rdm=1236870801496

Add a bit of bargaining room, and I bet one can be had for about $20k.

As far as unemployment goes, it's highly unlikely we'll hit the 10.4% recorded in South Carolina.

it's funny the people that have this mentality.. It can NEVER happen to us..

Really.. I'm sure a lot of people were saying that in 1982-83 too. When it went to over 11% in 1984..

Back in 2006 you had a choice of a 325 with 215hp for 40k base or a 330 with 255hp for 49k base. Identical cars and options but you get an extra 40hp for 9 grand. That is a lot of money for 40hp with both cars have the identical suspension, interior, body, etc. It is still a great car and most people that buy bmw's buy them for the ride/handling balance that is so good on them. I know that is why I drive a 2006 325.

Now 07 and up it is a bit different because it is a way bigger step up in engine then before.

Congrats on the car, it's great to make a big purchase but why do you insist on being such a cock-monger?

Stop trying to justify with us why you chose the 328 over the M3. We all know the reason was cost. The english only drive puny engines because large engines are taxed heavily and petrol is much more expensive. If those two issues didn't exist, 518's wouldn't either.

We are all dreaming if we think oil will stay this cheap.

I definately like the luxury of the 550i, but I wouldn't want the gas guzzler it is. A small engine would suffice :)

Right you turned down the offer because they wouldn't sponsor you.. You call it whatever you want.. I call it you're not worth the screen that you're typing on.

Stop trying to justify with us why you chose the 328 over the M3. We all know the reason was cost. The english only drive puny engines because large engines are taxed heavily and petrol is much more expensive. If those two issues didn't exist, 518's wouldn't either.

Wow buy a fucking clue.. if I wanted a M3 I would have gotten a M3.. period.. Now go stick your petrol up your pompus ass and get out of my thread.

At what point are you going to figure out that you aren't particularly wanted around here?

If you had the choice.. and chose a 328 over an M3.. I think its you that needs to buy a fucking clue. Especially since you saved all that money getting the 328 instead...

Wrong, falunting like a girl with new shoes - you talk about USA this, USA that. If you don't know, no one here gives a shit that you moved to a "better" place. Stop talking about it, relate everything to automobiles and take it that no one wants to hear your "amazing country" bullshit.

It's not my fault that both I and the US rock. :) Have a nice day. This thread had absolutely nothing to do with me moving or falunting anything.. It was simply a post of my new car which other people do all the time.. If others wanna make more of it then that's their problem not mine.

Unless you only sit waiting for reply's to your own post, you will see that 'generally' everyone is pretty nice to everyone around here.. especially those of us who have been here for a while.

The only time people gang up on others is when certain members overstep their boundaries and act like fvcking jerks.

You sir are one of those jerks

As Zorro said, in 99% of your posts there is some snyde comment or jerky response to seemingly harmless posts or questions.

Act like a normal contributing member and my guess is this thread would not only be cut in half, but you would maybe get one negative comment instead of three pages worth. Those three pages worth of mean & shitty comments is Beyond's way of letting someone know when they have crossed that line and aren't wanted. Maybe its time that you opened your eyes, and figured this out.

modded46, sounds like you're the one who has nothing better to do then "sit on the internet and attempt to feel better about yourself". That seems to be the central theme for all your posts here. You try to make us envious about you moving to South Carolina and driving a $20,000 vehicle but it's not working.

All your personal attacks aren't going to generate the "Wow nice car! I wish I could be like modded46" responses that you're looking for.

Hey you're not the advertising that you have one.. Obviously you're trying to make it seem like you have more than what you really do.. Try is the key word here..

Let's see.. Live somewhere that is cold and crowded, where you wait in line forever at shit restaurants just to get crappy service for overpriced food and then freeze your ass off when you walk out into the -25C weather..

or

Go golfing on Sunday in the middle of March? Hmm.

wait in line at shit restaurants for overpriced food/crap service? Stop taking your Mrs to McDonalds; what do you expect?
