well I've always been interested in learning how to play the guitar and I've always been putting it off
instead of calling everybody in the phone book, I would much rather get a recommendation from somebody that has used his/her service.
thanks for the help in advance

Good idea!
I generically went with Guitarworks because that's where I bought all my stuff. After going through two teachers I didn't like (only 1 lesson each), the 3rd was awesome...Brian...although I doubt he is still at the 16th ave location. They are pretty cool about trying new teachers with students.

guitar works is good if you don't mind paying a whole lot more than any other guitar shop in town.
i just started lessons at Axe music. everyone i've run into so far is pretty nice and it's $17/lesson (30min). But when i was doing the same research you get various feedback, it's hit and miss.

i teach guitar at studio 9 in lake bonavista, there's also a sundance location...i believe they charge my students $22.50/30 min lesson
i'd say just go wherever is convenient, most schools will have a suitable teacher if you're just starting out
