I bought this on May 6, 2008, only reason I'm selling it is because company gave me a laptop and haven't used this at all.

I'ts a 6cell battery so it will depend on what are you going to do on your laptop.
if watching videos you should be able to do 2hours.
if internet, documents then it should be able to pull 4-5 hours easily.

I'll check tonight how many hours it can last on battery

Got one of these. just saying its an amazing laptop...

Overheating: no issues at all.. but i dont game..
HDMI works perfectly... you just have to go in audio settings and switch the Audio from stereo 2.0 to High definition Audio and your up and running

Battery life: i have the standard battery i think its 6 cell (flush with the laptop) and max it will last is 2 1/2 hours... thats being in class and running word, and the internet... no way 4-5hrs.... sorry... watching a movie will be even shorter... maybe 1 1/2 hrs

excellent laptop if your in the market!!

thanks for the input.
you are correct, I unplugged the laptop from the power, checked the battery and it said 2hr30min right away, so definitely shorter for watching movies.
that's what I get for never using this laptop :banghead:

Thanks so much for the reply. I was really interested, as I was looking at these online.

I've decided on the Lenovo X200s, with 10.5 hours battery life....

I got this laptop too, and I haven't had any overheating issues with it while gaming.
Although I do take care of it and make sure it has adequate ventilation. (I never put it on something like a bed which could block air flow)
