Spotted: Lotus Esprit

My friends and I spotted this on our way out from a club on friday night. I was wondering why my compustar was telling me my alarm had reacted when I didn't see any scratches/dents on my car or any cars with fart cans nearby.. and thats when I spotted this Esprit a few feet away. No wonder my alarm went off, I'm sure this car sounds mean when its fired up :clap:

I love these cars, they sound awesome and are a bit of a rare sight to see :)

they're rare cars indeed. i don't think i've ever seen one in person until I saw that orange one in the parking lot. The rest of the lotus's I see in this city are the elise's

There was an old black busted up Esprit by Market Mall selling for cheap (~$8000 IIRC).

Pretty sure that's a buddy of mine, it's the anniversary edition. It's very nice, but when he fires it up the fumes gives me a headache, but then again you wouldn't be behind (or near) it for long!

I have only seen one before. For some reason it was being serviced at a Ford dealership i worked for a few years ago. It was a purplish color and it sounded pretty mean! I also love the fact that it has the corolla tails!

is that yellow or is that just the cellphone and streetlight effect? I've always liked Esprits and DeTomaso Panteras (did you know Tim Horton died in one?), something about the old ass 'future sportscar' styling.

i remember getting some booster cables at crappy tire @ 130th and this guy brought his white esprit to the automotive dept, i over heard 'replace timing belt and valve resetting' from the owner, when i left i saw they were driving it in on the hoist :facepalm: cheap rich ppl

everyone here is saying how the esprit has the corolla's tail lights.. are they just lights that look similar? or are they actually off of a corolla?

They're the same part. Lotus and Toyota had a lot of shared development going on around that time.

That is my neighbors car, he plans on moding it to bump up the HP. If you look in some of the ZR videos from last summer he will be in them.
