Looks like there will be a new hockey store opening in August at the new Balzac Mall, Crossiron Mills. Its called prolife hockey and sells nothing but hockey gear, and at decent prices from what I can see. Also in the store there will be a place where you can test out your shots speed and accuracy. Funny thing is the store is only a couple down from Sportchek at this mall, and is actually going to have more square footage than Sportchek. The store is called Pro Hockey Life.
The chain of stores is based out of eastern canada with Edmonton and Calgary getting the first western stores. There will be 2 stores in Calgary as there is one planned at 130 Ave SE.

Prolife Hockey or Pro Hockey Life??

Prolife hockey sounds like a hardcore Christian league.

I wonder when that Balzac mall will be done....next year? They're planning to have a casino, hotel, and horse race track. Apparently its going to be bigger than west ed.

The fishing/outdoor store opens next month and the rest of the mall opens in August.

There will be no race track, hotel or casino when it opens.

This hockey store is pretty cool especially for those looking for harder to find items (Winnipeg Jets jerseys, Quebec Nordiques jerseys, etc).

I'll be making a trip out there when it opens to check it out :)

If by outdoor mall you mean a big box mall like Deerfoot Meadows, then no Crossiron Mills is not an outdoor mall. It is an enclosed mall like Southcentre, Chinook, etc. Except its mostly on one floor.

the last thread about this said it was going to be an outdoor mall, don't feel like looking for it though

I think there will be some stores outside but most of it is indoors, for anyone who cares i found a link with the floorplan of potential stores.

It's a large enclosed mall that will be the largest mall in Alberta that opens in August.

The horse race track and casino aren't going to be open for at least another year.

It will be roughly the same size as Chinook Centre when it opens.

Chinook: 1.17M sq ft, 200 stores
Crossiron: 1.18M sq ft, 206 stores
West Ed: 3.8M sq ft, 800 stores
