My old company is implementing this... glad I don't work there anymore!

Although, it would be nice to have a long weekend every weekend...

Sounds like a decent deal for people who are living fairly comfortably already. Reduced hours, but not as reduced pay. Seems like a good deal.

I would assume EI contribution is minimal. You probably have to trade in 2 days of real pay for 2 hrs of EI pay. It's probably close to nothing. It helps but I think it's still cheaper to lay people off in most cases.
